Patent number: 11843642Abstract: Systems and methods are described for facilitating delivery of resources via peer-to-peer connections without requiring an intermediary signaling server. Typically, before establishing a peer-to-peer connection, peers must exchange signaling information such as their reachability over a network. Traditional systems often rely on an intermediary signaling server to act as a go-between for peers and assist in the exchange of signaling information. The present disclosure removes the need for a signaling server. Instead, peers may utilize message collections on a messaging system to exchange signaling information. A requesting peer may submit a request to access a resource to a message collection for that resource. A providing peer may obtain the request, and submit a response to a message collection for the requesting peer. Peers may continue to exchange information via the collections until a peer-to-peer connection is established.Type: GrantFiled: March 8, 2021Date of Patent: December 12, 2023Assignee: Amazon Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Jialu Wang, Michael Coleman, Garrett Sparks

Publication number: 20230366721Abstract: A method and system for detecting dirt on an electrode of an electromagnetic flowmeter are provided. The method includes: under three different conditions acquiring resistance values between the electrode and ground to form a first dataset, second datasets, and a sample set to be tested; extracting a positive definite feature matrix corresponding to each sample batch and calculating a Riemann center thereof; calculating a similarity index between the sample feature matrix and each of the first feature matrices and the second feature matrices; extracting l feature matrices with a largest similarity index, and calculating a local Riemann center thereof; and calculating proximity between the local Riemann center and each of the second Riemann centers, and determining that a Riemann center with the greatest proximity corresponds to dirt on the electrode corresponding to the sample set to be tested. The method can achieve a online rapid detection of dirt on the electrode.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 5, 2022Publication date: November 16, 2023Inventors: Ke ZHANG, Yi CHAI, Yalin QIAN, Huaxiang PU, Jialu WANG, Qianqian SONG, Keyue QIU, Xichen LI, Yiyao AN

Patent number: 11457279Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer-readable media for live previewing of streaming video in the cloud are disclosed. A portion of a video stream is received at a cloud-based media streaming system via a network. The media streaming system generates a video preview of the portion of the video stream. The media streaming system sends the video preview to a client device via a peer-to-peer connection before an additional portion of the video stream is received by the media streaming system. The video preview is displayed on the client device.Type: GrantFiled: September 26, 2018Date of Patent: September 27, 2022Assignee: Amazon Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Michael Coleman, Jialu Wang, Garrett Sparks

Patent number: 10773238Abstract: Embodiments of templated polymeric materials capable of binding lysophosphatidic acids (LPAs) are disclosed. Methods of making and using the templated polymeric materials also are disclosed. The disclosed templated polymeric materials are molecularly imprinted polymers that bind LPAs and facilitate the production of lysophosphatidic acid-enriched samples, for instance through extraction of lysophosphatidic acids from biological samples, such as plasma or serum samples.Type: GrantFiled: February 23, 2016Date of Patent: September 15, 2020Assignee: Portland State UniversityInventors: Robert M. Strongin, Martha Sibrian-Vazquez, Jialu Wang, Jorge O. Escobedo-Cordova

Patent number: 9952231Abstract: Embodiments of methods and compounds for isolating and detecting lysophosphatidic acids (LPAs) are disclosed. Kits for performing the methods also are disclosed. LPAs are isolated from biological samples by liquid-liquid extraction followed by solid phase extraction. LPA species may be separated by HPLC, and the separated species may be identified and quantified. Also disclosed are embodiments of compounds capable of universally detecting a plurality of LPA species with substantially equivalent sensitivity. Embodiments of the disclosed compounds are useful for determination of total LPA concentration in a sample comprising a plurality of LPA species without separation of individual LPA species.Type: GrantFiled: March 14, 2014Date of Patent: April 24, 2018Assignee: Portland State UniversityInventors: Robert Strongin, Martha Sibrian-Vazquez, Jialu Wang, Lei Wang, Jorge O.
