  • Publication number: 20240135675
Abstract: Detecting fine-grained similarity in image includes determining a core area of a search image by generating an image salient map from a plurality of layers of the search image and determining a connected area based on the image salient map. Feature descriptors are generated from the core area of the search image. A plurality of capsule vectors are generated from different ones of a plurality of keypoints of the feature descriptors. Capsule vectors of the search image are compared with capsule vectors of each image of the dataset to generate a top-K matrix. Similarity scores for the top-K matrix are calculated. One or more image of the dataset having fine-grained similarity with the search image are selected based a bundled similarity score for each image of the dataset. The bundled similarity score is a summation of the similarity scores of the image.

  • Publication number: 20240106856
Abstract: A distributed data security event detection and response (DDSEDR) system includes a data security management (DSM) system and a client-side data security event confirmation and response (CDSECR) system that manage data security events, such as ransomware attacks. In at least one embodiment, the DDSEDR system provides data security event detection, confirmation, mitigation, alerting, and recovery from malicious processes and other data security events. In at least one embodiment, the DSM system monitors one or more client file event records for information that indicates a potential data security event. If the DSM system detects a potential data security threat, the DSM, sends information to the CDSECR system that causes CDSECR system to inspect one or more files associated with the potential data security event to determine whether an actual data security event occurred and initiate a responsive action when the CDSECR system detects an actual data security event.

  • Publication number: 20230376713
Abstract: Image processing for scanning devices based on laser aimer position, wherein a first frame and a second frame of image data related to an object associated with a barcode are captured using a scanning device. A difference between first pixel data for a first grouping of pixels associated with the first frame and second pixel data for a second grouping of pixels associated with the second frame is computed. Additionally, a location of a laser aimer pattern in the first frame or the second frame is determined based on a comparison between respective differences between the first pixel data for the first grouping of pixels and the second pixel data for the second grouping of pixels, where the laser aimer pattern is created by the scanning device.

  • Patent number: 11652883
Abstract: The disclosed embodiments disclose techniques for accessing a scale-out block interface in a cloud-based distributed computing environment (CBDCE). During operation, an instance of a block device service (BDS) receives a data request from a client. The BDS instance translates the data request into a set of data block accesses, and then sends the translated data request to a data processing layer service (DPL). The DPL instance services the data request using a set of data operations that leverage one or more of a distributed cache, a distributed database, and a cloud storage system. The BDS service leverages the DPL instance to provide to the client an abstraction of a highly-available block storage device with unlimited storage space via the scale-out block interface.

  • Patent number: 11467967
Abstract: The disclosed embodiments disclose techniques for managing a distributed cache in a cloud-based distributed computing environment (CBDCE). During operation, an instance of a data processing layer service (DPL) receives a data request from a client that specifies an address and an operation for a target data block. The DPL instance uses these to determine a first cache instance of the distributed cache that is assigned to cache a metadata entry that links the address with a data block fingerprint for the target data block. The DPL instance then uses the data block fingerprint and the cache mapping to determine a second cache instance that is assigned to store the target data block, and then accesses the second cache instance to complete the operation for the target data block.

  • Patent number: 11178246
Abstract: The disclosed embodiments disclose techniques for managing cloud-based storage using a time-series database. A distributed cloud data management system (DCDMS) manages objects stored in a cloud storage system. The DCDMS leverages a distributed time-series database to track objects accessed via the DCDMS. During operation, the DCDMS receives a request to access an object using a path identifier and an object identifier. The DCDMS determines from the path identifier that the request is associated with one of its supported extended capabilities, and uses the previously tracked object operations that are stored in the time-series database to determine the actual target bucket in the cloud storage system that contains the requested object; the target bucket that contains the object may be different from the bucket identified in the path identifier that is received. The object identifier is then used to access the requested object from the target bucket to service the request.

  • Publication number: 20210141981
Abstract: A structural non-gradient topology optimization method based on a sequential Kriging surrogate model mainly comprises three parts: reduced series expansion of a material field of design domain, building of a non-gradient topology optimization model and solving optimization model using a sequential Kriging surrogate model algorithm. Design variables of the topology optimization problem are considerably reduced through the series expansion of a material-field function, and then the topology optimization problem involving fewer than 50 design variables can be effectively solved using the sequential Kriging surrogate model algorithm with an adaptive design space adjustment strategy. Without requiring the information of design sensitivity of a performance function, this method is suitable for solving complex multi-physical, multidisciplinary and highly nonlinear topology optimization problems.

  • Patent number: 10798427
Abstract: The present invention relates to a system and method for providing a failover of storage for media content, including media content used for broadcasting in cinema. One embodiment of the invention stores copies of digital cinema packages (“DCPs”) to both a central storage facility as well as a local storage facility. When a server module reading DCPs in central storage module encounters abnormalities, it switches reading operations to the local storage module, at the same frame location from which interruption occurred. The present invention provides a multi-layered storage system for cinema broadcasting of a movie to decrease likelihood of interruptions during a broadcast that may be caused by failure of the central storage facility.
