Abstract: A hair care composition includes a polypropylene glycol and a gel matrix. The polypropylene glycol is selected from a single-polypropylene glycol-chain segment polymer, a multi-polypropylene glycol-chain segment polymer, and mixtures thereof. The single-polypropylene glycol-chain segment polymer is of the formula (I): HO—(C3H6O)Ha, wherein a is a value from about 20 to about 100. The multi-polypropylene glycol-chain segment polymer is of formula (I), wherein n is a value from about 0 to about 10, each R is independently selected from the group consisting of H, and C1-C30 alky, each b is independently a value from about 0 to about 2, c and d are independently a value from about 0 to about 2, b+c+d is at least about 2, each e is independently a value of 0 or 1, each x, y, and z is independently a value of from about 7 to about 100, and x+y+z is greater than about 20. Te gel matrix includes a cationic surfactant, a solid fatty compound and water.

Abstract: Disclosed is a hair conditioning composition comprising by weight: (a) 0.01-10% of a mono-long alkyl quaternized ammonium salt cationic surfactant; (b) 2-20% of a high melting point fatty compound; (c) 0.0014% of a polysorbate; and (d) an aqueous carrier. The hair conditioning composition of the present invention can provide clean feel during and after rinsing the hair, while providing improved conditioning benefits to the hair.

Abstract: Disclosed is a hair conditioning composition comprising: (1) from about 0.01% to about 10% of a carboxylic acid/carboxylate copolymer; (2) from about 0.1% to about 10% of a moisturizing agent selected from the group consisting of a polypropylene glycol, an alkyl ethoxylate, and mixtures thereof; and (3) an aqueous carrier. Further disclosed is a method of making such hair conditioning compositions.

Abstract: Disclosed is a hair conditioning composition comprising by weight: (a) from about 0.1% to about 20% of a silicone system comprising a first silicone having a high viscosity, a second silicone having a low viscosity, and a third silicone which is an aminosilicone; (b) from about 0.1% to about 10% of an amidoamine; (c) an acid at a level such that the mole ratio of amidoamine to acid is from about 1:0.3 to about 1:1.3; (d) from about 0.1% to about 20% of a high melting point fatty compound; and (e) an aqueous carrier. The hair conditioning composition of the present invention can provide improved silicone deposition, thus provide improved conditioning benefits such as softness and smoothness.

Abstract: Hair care compositions include a polypropylene glycol, an ester oil, and a gel matrix comprising a cationic surfactant, a solid fatty compound, and water. Hair care compositions also include a polypropylene glycol, an ester oil selected from a pentaerythritol ester oil, a trimethylol ester oil, and mixtures thereof, and a suitable carrier. The polypropylene glycol has a weight average molecular weight of from about 200 g/mol to about 100,000 g/mol. The HLB value of the ester oil is less than about 4.

Abstract: The present invention relates to hairspray compositions comprising from about 50% to about 99.9% by weight of an alcohol solvent, and from about 0.1% to about 30% by weight of a silicone-containing adhesive block copolymer having a weight average molecular weight from about 10,000 grams/mole to about 10,000,000 grams/mole and which is formed from the free radical polymerization of an ethylenically unsaturated monomer with select silicone macroinitiators, preferably silicone macroazoinitiators. The hairspray compositions, when dried, preferably have a cohesive strength of greater than about 0.5 kgf/mm.sup.2, a total energy absorption per unit volume of greater than about 0.55 kgfmm/mm.sup.3, an impact strength of greater than about 7000 ergs, and an improved removeability from hair as defined by a hair stiffness value of from 0 to about 3.5 (0 to 4 scale) and a hair flaking value of from 0 to about 3.5 (0 to 4 scale).
