Abstract: Disclosed are a terminal device and a charging method thereof. The terminal device includes a charging port disposed on a housing, a controller disposed inside the terminal device, and an induction component and a charging guide component which are disposed at the periphery of the charging port; wherein the induction component is electrically connected with the controller, and is configured to acquire an induction signal between the induction component and a metal joint of a charging cable and send the induction signal to the controller; and the controller is also electrically connected with the charging guide component and is configured to activate the charging guide component when determining that the induction signal meets a first preset condition.
