Publication number: 20250095285Abstract: A dense point cloud (DPC) is generated for a physical object. 2D digital images of the physical object are obtained. Object extractors are defined. A sparse point cloud (SPC) is created from the 2D digital images. A modified SPC is obtained by first applying the object extractors to the 2D digital images to exclude pixels from the 2D digital images and then excluding the datapoints in the SPC that correspond to the pixels that have been excluded from the 2D digital images. The datapoints of the SPC that do not represent the object are excluded from being included in the modified SPC. The DPC is generated by integrating information obtained from the pixels in the 2D digital images with the modified SPC.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 28, 2021Publication date: March 20, 2025Inventors: Jianging GAO, Fengkai WAN, Rerngvit YANGGRATOKE

Publication number: 20230357430Abstract: The present subject matter relates to the use of one or more inhibitors to treat a disease, e.g., cancer, in a subject. It is based, at least in part, on the discovery that protein kinase B (AKT) and ring finger protein 167 (RNF167)-mediated CASTOR1 degradation activates the mammalian target of rapamycin complex 1 (mTORC1) independent of arginine and promotes cancer progression. Accordingly, the presently disclosed subject matter provides for compositions, methods, and kits for treating a subject using an RNF167 inhibitor, an inhibitor that reduces phosphorylation of CASTOR1 at S14, ubiquitination and/or degradation of CASTOR1, or a combination thereof.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 15, 2023Publication date: November 9, 2023Applicant: UNIVERSITY OF PITTSBURGH - OF THE COMMONWEALTH SYSTEM OF HIGHER EDUCATIONInventor: Shou-Jiang Gao

Patent number: 11127203Abstract: Described is a system for leveraging crowd sourced data for mapping and navigation within a spatial environment. The system may merge various map fragments received from multiple devices to create a global 3D point cloud map. The system may also provide the ability to identify real-world virtual landmarks in an environment and associate these virtual coordinates with locations within the 3D point cloud map. These virtual landmarks may then be used to reference and index objects detected within the environment. Accordingly, these virtual landmarks and objects may then be used for mapping and navigation. For example, the objects may be referenced by various devices in real time for re-localization, and the virtual landmarks maybe used by various devices to triangulate accurate positions. Accordingly, described is an efficient mechanism for leveraging crowd sourced data to improve navigation within a spatial environment.Type: GrantFiled: April 16, 2019Date of Patent: September 21, 2021Assignee: Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd.Inventor: Jiang Gao

Patent number: 9517272Abstract: The present invention relates to an active substance release system containing two compounds. The first compound comprises a nanoparticle, combined with an oligonucleotide inhibition strand that is hybridized with a catalytically active nucleic acid. The second compound comprises a carrier, combined with a substrate molecule that is coupled to a therapeutic active substance. By means of external stimulation, the catalytically active nucleic acid of the first compound is released and specifically binds to the substrate molecule of the second compound. This leads to cleavage of the substrate molecule, whereby the active substance bound thereto is released.Type: GrantFiled: December 16, 2010Date of Patent: December 13, 2016Assignee: MAGFORCE AGInventors: Jiang Gao, Monika Fischler, Volker A.
