Abstract: An electric grill used to cook food items positioned between upper and lower grilling surfaces is disclosed. The electric grill includes a base portion having outer surfaces and a first inner grilling surface contained therein, an lid portion pivotably connected to the lower base portion and having outer surfaces and a second inner grilling surface contained therein, a handle functionally connected to the lid portion to pivot the lid portion between an open position and a closed position, and an electronic control interface positioned on the handle configured to control the operation of the first and second inner grilling surfaces.

Abstract: A risk assessment method and computing device are provided. Valuable weak variables are added to a risk assessment model, making risk assessment process more comprehensive and more stable, helping to improve the accuracy and objectiveness of risk assessment. In some implementations, the method includes: categorizing a plurality of groups of variables into a first category of variable groups and a second category of variable groups in accordance with correlations between respective groups of variables and a target variable; obtaining a plurality of risk assessment sub-models for respective groups of variables in the second category; obtaining a plurality of sub-model results for the respective risk assessment sub-models in the second category; and obtaining a comprehensive risk assessment model for evaluating the risk of the target variable based on (1) a plurality of variables in the first category and (2) the plurality of sub-model variables in the second category.

Abstract: A method of assessing the quality of an retinal image (such as a fundus image) includes selecting at least one region of interest within a retinal image corresponding to a particular structure of the eye (e.g. the optic disc or the macula), and a quality score is calculated in respect of the, or each, region-of-interest. Each region of interest is typically one associated with pathology, as the optic disc and the macula are. Optionally, a quality score may be calculated also in respect of the eye as a whole (i.e. over the entire image, if the entire image corresponds to the retina).

Abstract: The present invention relates to a system for displaying a video image to a user having a visual impairment. The system comprises a video camera, a data storage device, a processor and an image display device for displaying processed images in a display region. The processor is operative to perform at least one of the operations of (i) including in the display region, a marker at a location offset from a centre of the display region, whereby if the user, who suffers from blurred vision at the centre of the user's visual field, looks at the marker, the user sees the captured image in focus; or (ii) deforming a portion of the captured image by a correction matrix, whereby, upon displaying the processed images by the display device, the correction matrix corrects a deformation in a corresponding portion of the visual field of the user due to the visual impairment.

Abstract: An enhanced Flash chip of SPI interface and a method for packaging chip, to solve the problems of high design complexity, long design period and high design cost. The chip comprises SPI FLASH and RPMC which are packaged integrally; the SPI FLASH and the RPMC comprise an independent controller, respectively; the same IO pins in SPI FLASH and RPMC are mutually connected and are connected to the same external sharing pin of the chip. The SPI FLASH and the RPMC further comprise an internal IO pin, respectively, in which the internal IO pin of SPI FLASH is connected with the internal IO pin of RPMC, and the internal mutual communication between the SPI FLASH and the RPMC is achieved through the mutually connected internal IO pins. Thus, it is possible to reduce the package size, decrease the cost of design, shorten design period and improve chip performance.

Abstract: An optical coherence tomography (OCT) image composed of a plurality of A-scans of a structure is analysed by defining, for each A-scan, a set of neighbouring A-scans surrounding the A-slices scan. Following an optional de-noising step, the neighbouring A-scans are aligned in the imaging direction, then a matrix X is formed from the aligned A-scans, and matrix completion is performed to obtain a reduced speckle noise image.

Abstract: An external bed type double-fluidized bed system for preventing boiler contamination includes a fluidized bed combustion furnace, a cyclone separator, a coal ash distributor and a fluidized bed pyrolysis furnace. The fluidized bed combustion furnace is connected with the coal ash distributor, the coal ash distributor is connected with the coal ash inlet on a side wall of the fluidized bed combustion furnace through a return feeder with which the coal ash outlet of the fluidized bed pyrolysis furnace is also connected through an external bed, and the return feeder is connected with the fluidized bed combustion furnace. A fuel coal is pyrolyzed in the fluidized bed pyrolysis furnace at a temperature to volatize alkali chlorides into a pyrolysis gas, thereby reducing the content of the alkali chlorides contained in the coal in the fluidized bed combustion furnace and relieving the contamination to a convective heat-absorbing surface.

Abstract: An interaction system and method for interaction between a handheld device and a television comprises the configuration and connection of a first HDMI transferring module and a television screen in addition to a configuration and connection of a second HDMI transferring module, a touch screen, a gesture managing module and a display managing module. A user interface system and method for interaction between a handheld device and a television can utilize a handheld device having a touch screen to operate the television without requiring the assistance of other hardware units, such as a mouse or keyboard. All the operations can be done by using only the handheld device, thereby reducing the costs of devices.

Abstract: A numerical parameter indicative of the degree of match between two retina images is produced by comparing two graphs obtained from the respective images. Each graph is composed of edges and vertices. Each vertex is associated with a location the corresponding retina image, and with descriptor data describing a part of the corresponding retina image proximate the corresponding location.

Abstract: A method is proposed for automatically locating the optic disc or the optic cup in an image of the rear of an eye. A portion of the image containing the optic disc or optic cup is divided into sub-regions using a clustering algorithm. Biologically inspired features, and optionally other features, are obtained for each of the sub-regions. An adaptive model uses the features to generate data indicative of whether each sub-region is within or outside the optic disc or optic cup. The result is then smoothed, to form an estimate of the position of the optic disc or optic cup.
