Abstract: A communication method and a communication apparatus that can be used for application instance switching in a multi-access edge computing (MEC) scenario. The method includes: an MEC network element obtains information about a source application instance of an application accessed by a terminal device and information about a target application instance of the application. The MEC network element sends a first message to a first MEC platform, where the first message is used to request to migrate a user context of the application from the source application instance to the target application instance, the source application instance is deployed on the first MEC platform, and the target application instance is deployed on a second MEC platform. The MEC network element receives a second message from the first MEC platform, where the second message indicates a migration state of the user context of the application.

Abstract: The present application relates to the technical field of communications, and provides a time synchronization method, an electronic device and a storage medium. A terminal sends a target protocol data unit (PDU) session establishment request to a session management function (SMF) according to a routing policy, wherein the target PDU session establishment request includes a target virtual private link identifier; and the terminal establishes a target PDU session with a target user plane function (UPF). The described method is applied to embodiments of the present application, so that a time synchronization message may be transmitted by means of the target PDU session and an interface indicated by target virtual private link information.

The SMF then sends to the UE a session establishment response message that includes the IP address of the first DNS server.

Abstract: This application provides an application instance deployment method, apparatus, and a readable storage medium. In one embodiment, a data analysis network element receives a first message from a first network element, where the first message includes indication information used to indicate a first area. The first message is used to request first indication information that includes prediction information of a terminal device accessing an application instance of a target application in the first area. The data analysis network element determines the first indication information, and sends the first indication information to the first network element.

Abstract: A method for determining an application instance, an apparatus, and a system. The method includes: a first network element obtains location information of a terminal, determines first at least one MEC application instance based on the location information of the terminal, and sends address information of the first at least one MEC application instance to the terminal. This reduces a latency of packet transmission between an MEC application instance and the terminal and improves quality of services.

Therefore, a real internet of vehicles service is implemented.

According to the foregoing method, even if a service on a current mobile edge host is faulty, a service on another mobile edge host can be used, thereby ensuring normal running of an application on the current mobile edge host.

By applying the methods provided by the present disclosure, the bandwidth and resources of an IP bearer network in a communication system are saved.

Abstract: An embodiment of a system and method for online media preview extracts a plurality of preview frames from a media file. The preview frames are saved in a layered data structure. In addition, the preview frames may be scaled to a lower resolution so that the preview file formed by the preview frames is reduced in size. After receiving a preview request, a delivery scheduling scheme delivers the preview frames at selected time points to minimize startup delay and playback jitter.
