Abstract: Embodiments of this application disclose a method and an apparatus for adjusting a packet transmission rate, to alleviate network congestion and reduce a packet transmission delay. The method includes: a first device obtains a target rate and address information of a destination end, where the target rate is lower than bandwidth at a source end; and the first device sends a correspondence to a second device configured to adjust the packet transmission rate, where the correspondence includes the target rate and the address information of the destination end.

Abstract: The present disclosure discloses a method and apparatus for establishing a hard pipe in a network. The network includes multiple routers and a network management system. The method includes: acquiring, by the network management system, bandwidths of a plurality of links in the network; instructing, a router to allocate a fixed bandwidth from a bandwidth of the link of the network topology, where a link to which the fixed bandwidth is allocated forms a sublink, and the sublink and the router that allocates the sublink form a hard pipe stratum, which is used to carry a leased line service; and allocating, a static MPLS label set to the hard pipe stratum. A service packet that has an MPLS label in the static MPLS label set is forwarded by using the hard pipe stratum, thereby ensuring that a bandwidth of the leased line service is not occupied by a non-leased line service.

Abstract: A method for link aggregation failure protection includes: receiving failure information including a failure location and an identity of more than one corresponding logical link, a failed physical link and more than one physical link form an LAG, each physical link in the LAG corresponds to logical links with a same identity, and the logical links with the same identity in the LAG correspond to an RSP device of a backbone layer and a receiving device of an access layer and forward data separately through more than two aggregation devices at an aggregation layer locating between the backbone layer and the access layer; according to the failure information, bundling a logical link corresponding to the failed physical link with a logical link corresponding to a physical link without failure in the LAG to form a logical LAG; and transmitting, through the logical LAG, data sent to the failed physical link.
