    Abstract: Various schemes pertaining to subcarrier indices for distributed-tone resource units (RUs) in 6 GHz low-power indoor (LPI) systems are described. A communication entity distributes frequency tones of a RU over a distribution bandwidth as a distributed-tone RU (dRU). The communication entity also generates generating a plurality of subcarrier indices for the distributed-tone RU such that a distribution of the distributed-tone RU is symmetric or asymmetric to a direct-current (DC) tone along an axis of subcarrier indices. The communication entity then communicates wirelessly using the distributed-tone RU in a 6 GHz LPI system.

    Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide a method and apparatus for enhanced data retransmission based on log-likelihood ratio (LLR) combining in WLAN. According to some embodiments, packets can be retransmitted using a modified transmission scheme. Codewords are associated with cyclic redundancy checks (CRCs) for detecting errors, and a subsequent packet is received that includes data that can be used to correct the error. For example, each packet can be encoded for both error detection and correction, and the retransmission mechanism can be adapted to the error rate. The retransmission scheme is improved by utilizing an LLR combining scheme, transmit diversity, and modified ACK methods.

The STA then performs a transmission using the assigned one or more RUs responsive to receiving the trigger frame. In an event that at least one subchannel of the plurality of subchannels is detected as being busy, the one or more subchannels may include a subset (e.g., some but not all) of the plurality of subchannels.

    Abstract: Various schemes pertaining to encoding and transmit power control for downsized trigger-based (TB) physical-layer protocol data unit (PPDU) transmissions in next-generation WLAN systems are described. A station (STA) receives a trigger frame indicating an allocated resource unit (RU) of a first size. The STA performs channel sensing responsive to receiving the trigger frame. In response to detecting at least one subchannel being busy from the channel sensing, the STA performs a downsized trigger-based (TB) transmission with a downsized RU or multi-RU (MRU) of a second size smaller than the first size by utilizing downsized RU or MRU allocation information while maintaining a value of each of one or more parameters unchanged in an encoding process to perform the downsized TB transmission.

    Abstract: Systems and methods of transmitting a PPDU to or from a single user station (STA) in an MIMO transmission by using unequal MCSs. An access point (AP) allocates a plurality of spatial streams to the STA and assigned them into groups for the MIMO transmission. Multiple unequal MCSs are assigned to the different spatial stream groups. Correspondingly the STA ID is repeatedly specified in the user block fields of a SIG-B field of a downlink PPDU, or in the user information fields of a trigger frame. Alternatively, multiple AIDs of the STA can be specified in the user block fields or the user information fields instead of repeating the same STA ID. An indication may be inserted in the SIG-A field to indicate that the grouped-based unequal MCSs scheme is used for the MIMO transmission.

The virtual RU parameters used for joint encoding can be directly calculated based on formulas described herein according to embodiments of the present invention, and according to values obtained from pre-defined tables.

    Abstract: A wireless communication link is established between a first station (STA) and a second STA in a 6-GHz band. The first STA and the second STA the communicate in the 6-GHz band using a low-power indoor (LPI) long range (LR) physical-layer protocol data unit (PPDU). The LPI LR PPDU includes a legacy preamble, a universal signal field (U-SIG), an extreme-high-throughput signal field (EHT-SIG), an extreme-high-throughput short training field (EHT-STF), an extreme-high-throughput long training field (EHT-LTF), and a payload. Each of the legacy preamble, U-SIG and EHT-SIG is modulated and duplicated over multiple 20-MHz subchannels for a 80-MHz, 160-MHz or 320-MHz bandwidth over which the LPI LR PPDU is transmitted. Each of the EHT-STF, EHT-LTF and payload is modulated and transmitted on an entirety of the 80-MHz, 160-MHz or 320-MHz bandwidth.
