The first type of the one or more shear-thickening materials is sol-gel based shear-thickening material in which small inorganic particles are connected in a gel network; the second type is polymer-based shear-thickening material in which polymer chains form network. Compared to the existing shear-thickening materials, the present shear-thickening materials have different molecular structure and formulation and possess properties of good impact protection and good stability.

    Abstract: A self-assembled metal mesh transparent conductive film and the method of fabricating the same are provided in the present invention. Some key aspects of the present invention are as follows: 1) to control the opening size in self-assembled metal mesh transparent conductive film; 2) to tune the surface energy of substrate using surface treatment; 3) to improve transparency of metal mesh by low-temperature method such as chemical etching; 4) to increase the conductivity of metal mesh without high temperature annealing; and 5) to strengthen the metal mesh film by post-treatment. The transparent conductive film of the present invention can be formed on rigid or flexible substrates. The present method enables tuning the transparency and conductance of the metal mesh film through tuning the opening size of metal mesh, and is also cost-effective due to low process cost and high material utilization rate.

The manufacturing process comprises the following steps: step 1): a filler is added to a rubber solution, forming a rubber/filler/solvent mixture by stirring; and step 2): the solvent is removed and the mixture is dried, resulting in a rubber/filler masterbatch. The present invention also relates to a masterbatch prepared by the above-mentioned process and a rubber article prepared using the masterbatch. Compared to the wet mixing technologies in the prior art, the present invention has no specific requirements of rubber and filler, with a wider scope of usage. In addition, the filler has a high dispersion in rubber compounds, the production process thereof is continuous, highly efficient, low in energy consumption and labour, and thus low in cost.
