Abstract: The present invention relates to a text input method and a terminal. The method includes: acquiring a text input instruction that is generated by performing a first operation by a user, and presenting an input text according to the text input instruction; querying a text prediction database according to the input text, to acquire a predicted text set corresponding to the input text, and presenting the predicted text set, where the predicted text set is a set of phrases or sentences; acquiring a predicted text selection instruction that is generated by performing a second operation by the user, and acquiring a predicted text in a subset of the predicted text set; and acquiring a predicted text input instruction that is generated by performing a third operation by the user, and inputting the predicted text into a text input window according to the predicted text input instruction.
