Abstract: A vinyl-containing copolymer is copolymerized from (a) first compound, (b) second compound, and (c) third compound. (a) First compound is an aromatic compound having a single vinyl group. (b) Second compound is polybutadiene or polybutadiene-styrene having side vinyl groups. (c) Third compound is an acrylate compound. The vinyl-containing copolymer includes 0.003 mol/g to 0.010 mol/g of benzene ring, 0.0005 mol/g to 0.008 mol/g of vinyl group, and 1.2*10?5 mol/g to 2.4*10?4 mol/g of ester group.

Abstract: A storage unit data transmission stability detecting method and system is proposed, which is designed for use in conjunction with a storage unit, such as a RAID (Redundant Array of Independent Disks) unit, for the purpose of detecting the data transmission stability of the RAID unit; and which is characterized by that the data transmission stability is determined based on Gaussian function on the statistics of the occurrences of a set of predefined operational conditions in data transmission. This feature allows the detected results to more precisely represent the data transmission stability of a RAID unit.

Abstract: A cyanine dye for using in optical disc recording medium, having the following structure: ##STR1## wherein R represents 4-methoxycarbonyl benzyl group, X.sup.- represents an acid anion, and n represents am integer of 2 or 3. This cyanine dye is suitable for use as a near infrared light-absorbing organic dye useful as an optical disc recording medium.
