    Abstract: A method may be applied to a terminal device that supports a first communication system and a second communication system. The first communication system corresponds to a first user identity, and the second communication system corresponds to a second user identity. The method includes: a terminal device receiving a first message in a first communication system, where the first message indicates to perform DAPS handover between a source cell and a target cell in the first communication system. In response to determining that a capability available for the first communication system cannot support the DAPS handover, the terminal device suspends communication with the source cell in the first communication system, and is handed over to the target cell in the first communication system.
