  • Patent number: 11947829
Abstract: This application discloses a data writing method, device, a storage server and a computer readable storage medium, including: writing, when a write request is received, write data corresponding to the write request to a write buffer; acquiring historical access data of a data block corresponding to to-be-flushed data in the write buffer when a data flushing operation is triggered for the write buffer; determining whether the to-be-flushed data is write-only data based on the historical access data by using a pre-trained classifier; if yes, writing the to-be-flushed data to a hard disk drive; and if no, writing the to-be-flushed data to a cache. The data writing method provided by this application can effectively reduce the traffic of writing dirty data to the cache while reserving more space in the cache for the ordinary data, thereby improving the utilization of the cache space and the read hit rate of the cache.

  • Publication number: 20240076231
Abstract: A proposed fabrication technique for a polarization-absorbing wire grid polarizer avoids the need to etch through the multilayer stack of materials to form the grid structure. Initial reflective metal and dielectric buffer layers are patterned and etched in a conventional manner to create the desired grid topology. A small-angle coating process is then used to complete the fabrication process by first coating the top surface of the patterned dielectric with a polarization-absorbing metal. A second coating process is used to cover the created metal coating with a dielectric cladding material. Maintaining a small angle of incidence between the coating source and the wire grid structure ensures that top portions of the grid are suitably covered to create the desired multilayer wire configuration.

  • Publication number: 20220221743
Abstract: Techniques for termination for microring modulators are disclosed. In the illustrative embodiment, a microring modulator on a photonic integrated circuit (PIC) die is modulated by radiofrequency (RF) signals connected to electrodes across the microring modulator. A resistor is connected to each of the electrodes. The resistors both provide termination for the RF signals, preventing or reducing reflections, as well as forming part of a bias tee, allowing for a DC bias voltage to be applied across the electrodes.

  • Publication number: 20210373412
Abstract: Embodiments described herein may be related to apparatuses, processes, and techniques directed to a multiple traveling waveguide structure to synthesize EO frequency responses used for optical modulation. Multiple traveling waveguide devices may include a plurality of traveling waveguides, each with different characteristics resulting in a different EO response within a target frequency range. These different characteristics may be achieved by varying the PN junction, PN doping level, optical waveguides, RF waveguides and the like for each traveling waveguide. The multiple traveling waveguide structure is formed by combining each traveling waveguide in a serial and/or parallel fashion, and then iteratively optimized based on artificial intelligence (AI) training sequences, to achieve an overall optical modulation beyond 100 GHz. Other embodiments may be described and/or claimed.
