A connector latch is attached to the housing and is adapted to retain the housing in a mounted position on the corresponding connector. A connector position assurance is also attached to the connector latch. The connector position assurance is movable from a pre-lock position to an assurance position when the housing is attached to the corresponding connector. A block engages the connector position assurance when the connector position assurance is moved from the pre-lock position to the assurance position. The block resists movement of the connector position assurance to the assurance position.
