  • Publication number: 20140161779
Abstract: Involved is a method for controlling the pest Sesamia inferens, comprising a step of contacting Sesamia inferens with Cry1F protein. Sesamia inferens is controlled by the Cry1F protein having pesticidal activity against Sesamia inferens, which is produced in the plants. Compared with the agricultural control, chemical control and biology control currently used in prior art, the present invention can protect the whole plant during whole growth period from the harm of Sesamia inferen. Furthermore, it causes no pollution and no residue and provides a stable and thorough control effect. Also it is simple, convenient and economic.

  • Publication number: 20140157459
Abstract: Involved is pesticidal gene and use thereof, the nucleotide sequence of the pesticidal gene comprises: (a) a nucleotide sequence as shown in SEQ ID NO: 3; or (b) a nucleotide sequence as shown in SEQ ID NO: 4; or (c) an isocoding sequence of (a) or (b) which is not the nucleotide sequence as shown in SEQ ID: 22 or SEQ ID NO: 26; or (d) a nucleotide sequence which hybridizes with the nucleotide sequence as shown in (a), (b) or (c) under stringency conditions and encodes a protein having pesticidal activity. The pesticidal gene of present application is particularly suitable for expression in monocotyledonae and notably increases the expression level, stability and virulence of pesticidal protein Vip3A. At the same time, in present application, Sesamia inferens is controlled by the Vip3A protein having pesticidal activity against Sesamia inferens, which is produced in the plants.

  • Publication number: 20140154223
Abstract: Certain embodiments of the present invention provide a method for controlling Athetis lepigone, which comprises contacting Athetis lepigone with Cry1A protein. Aspects of the present invention can achieve control of Athetis lepigone by enabling plants to produce Cry1A protein in vivo, which can be lethal to Athetis lepigone. In still other instances, the method can control Athetis lepigone throughout the growth period of the plants and provide the plants with a full protection. Additionally, the method, in certain embodiments, can be one or more of stable, complete, simple, convenient, economical, pollution-free or residue-free.

  • Publication number: 20140037608
Abstract: The invention relates to an insecticidal protein, its gene encoding and the uses thereof. The protein comprises: (a) a protein consisting of an amino acid sequence shown by SEQ ID NO:2; or (b) a protein derived from (a) consisting of an amino acid sequence by substitution, deletion, or addition of one or more amino acid residues of the amino acid sequences in (a), and having insecticidal activity; or (c) a protein generated by the expression of nucleic acid molecules containing a nucleotide sequence of SEQ ID NO:1; or (d) a protein generated by the expression of nucleic acid molecules containing a complementary sequence that hybridized with SEQ ID NO:1 under stringent conditions; or (e) a protein generated by the expression of nucleic acid molecules that contain nucleotide sequences isocoding with the nucleotide sequences in (d). The insecticidal protein of the invention has high expression level and strong toxicity against pests.
