  • Publication number: 20140316877
Abstract: A method and system for promoting usage of a print device during non-peak time periods is disclosed. A print device promotion system includes at least one print device, a processor in communication with the at least one print device and a computer readable storage medium. The storage medium is configured to store program instructions which, when executed, cause the processor to receive data corresponding to measurements of usage of a print device over a plurality of baseline time periods; identify at least one non-peak time period; select a promotion for the print device; receive data corresponding to measurements of usage of the print device over a plurality of additional time periods; determine whether the usage during the time window satisfied the one or more target usage criteria; and offer the consumer the consumable item at the reduced price.

  • Publication number: 20130336697
Abstract: When an insufficient quantity of a preferred print media is installed in a selected printing device, methods and systems automatically output an insufficient-print-media notice and one or more reconfiguration options for proceeding with printing the print data on one of the installed print media types. In response, a selected reconfiguration option is received that identifies an alternative print media to be used in place of the preferred print media when executing the print request. Additional processing is performed to print the print data on the alternative print media including: automatically resizing the print data to fit on the alternative print media; automatically printing a cutline on the alternative print media to indicate where the alternative print media should be cut to be reduced to the preferred print media; and automatically formatting multiple pages of the print data to print on one page of the alternative print media.

  • Patent number: 8573725
Abstract: An improved method of measuring relative positions of adjacent printheads in a printhead array has been developed. A pair of ink dashes is made with different colors of ink from adjacent printheads and an offset distance between the dashes is determined from color density measurements of the two dashes. The offset distance may then be used to adjust the stitch alignment of the two printheads.

  • Patent number: 7262260
Abstract: Using novel synthetic techniques, siloxane-urea segmented copolymers are made. The copolymers advantageously contain a polyether interface, with controlled morphologies and properties. High molecular weight, high strength siloxane-urea copolymers with urea hard segment contents ranging from 5 to over 60% by weight may be prepared. Polymer properties that can independently be controlled include modulus (1.0 to 120 MPa), ultimate tensile strength (1.5 to 25 MPa), level of equilibrium water absorption (˜0 to 100% by weight) and refractive index (1.43 to 1.46).
