    Abstract: A liquid crystal backlight device and a method for controlling the same are applied to a liquid crystal display apparatus, in which a backlight module is disposed behind a liquid crystal panel to illuminate the panel. The backlight device produces stable illumination to solve the hold type problem due to the hold-type effect of liquid crystal occurred in the prior art. The control method is used to acquire a stable display time from the liquid crystal characteristics and then process the scan signal to match the display data. Controls of the backlight activation signal, including on/off, time delay, and duty cycle adjustment, are then performed to generate a pulse-width modulated signal and a brightness modulated signal so as to produce stable backlight illumination effect. A better display effect can therefore be accomplished.

The image load is compared with a predetermined range. If the image load is less than the range, then a display duty cycle is set to be an upper limit. If the image load is greater than the range, then the display duty cycle is set to be a lower limit. If the image load is in the range, then the display duty cycle is set to an operation quantity between the upper limit and the lower limit, according to a current image load. Further, according to the changing of display duty cycle, two ranges are set to have the hysteresis effect.

    Abstract: A driving method for driving an LCD is provided. The LCD panel includes a plurality of scan lines, a plurality of data lines and a plurality of pixel units. The two neighboring pixel units electrically connected to the same scan line are located on two sides of the scan line respectively. The scan lines are sequentially divided into a plurality of groups. The driving method includes the following. The odd-numbered groups of scan lines are sequentially turned on and a signal with first polarity is input to the pixel units controlled by the odd-numbered groups of scan lines through the data lines. The even-numbered groups of scan lines are sequentially turned on and a signal with second polarity is input to the pixel units controlled by the even-numbered groups of scan lines through the data lines. The signal with first polarity and the signal with second polarity have opposite polarities.

    Abstract: A pixel driving circuit of this invention utilizes a storage capacitor and an active loading circuit to serve as a pixel data storage buffer for each pixel. The pixel driving circuit of this invention can write the whole-panel pixel data for a next frame in these storage buffers during the illuminating time of a backlight. When changing the frames, the whole-panel pixels synchronously read the pixel data pre-stored in these storage buffers. As a result, the write-in time of the whole-panel pixel data is reduced and the illuminating time of the backlight is relatively increased.

    Abstract: A pixel structure of a display device and a method for driving the same are provided. The pixel structure has a pixel capacitor, a switch, a pre-write unit and a reset unit. The pre-write unit is coupled to the switch for pre-writing display data therein when the switch is turned on. The reset unit is coupled between the pre-write unit and the pixel capacitor for resetting the pixel capacitor. When the pixel capacitor is reset, the display data is pre-written to the pre-write unit. After the pixel capacitor is reset and ready for display, the pre-written display data is written to the pixel capacitor.
