  • Publication number: 20080097314
Abstract: A safety syringe includes a barrel, a needle assembly and a plunger. The barrel has at least one protrusion formed on one end of the barrel. The needle assembly includes a hub and a needle. The hub has at least one L-shaped groove respectively corresponding to and engaging with the at least one protrusion of the barrel. The needle is attached on the hub. The plunger is mounted slidably in the barrel. Accordingly, the needle assembly can be retracted into the barrel to keep any person from being injured by a used needle and is easily manufactured.

  • Publication number: 20060189932
Abstract: The safety syringe has a hollow barrel, a needle hub, a sleeve and a plunger. The needle hub is mounted on the hollow barrel and has a needle, a hub and a stopper. The needle is mounted on the hub and the stopper is mounted inside the hub. The hub has channels through which medication or blood can pass. The sleeve is mounted on the needle hub. The plunger is mounted slidably inside the hollow barrel. The used needle is retracted into the tube after use by a vacuum after seating the stopper and retracting the plunger to keep people from getting injured or infected.

  • Publication number: 20060129097
Abstract: A safe syringe has a barrel, a needle assembly, a sheath and a plunger. The barrel has an open front end, an open back end and multiple longitudinal slots defined through the barrel and communicate with the open front end. The needle assembly is mounted retractably in the open front end of the barrel and has a tapered hub, a needle and a plug. The tapered hub has a front, an open back, an axial recess and multiple longitudinal grooves. The needle is mounted on the tapered hub. The plug is mounted slidably into the axial recess. The sheath is mounted around the open front end of the barrel. The plunger is mounted slidably through the open back end of the barrel. The needle assembly is pulled into the barrel by a vacuum force generated by the plunger so medical personnel can safely deal with the used safe syringe.

  • Patent number: 6911021
Abstract: A safety syringe for taking blood has a hollow barrel, a seal, a tube and a needle hub. The hollow barrel has an outside surface, a proximal open end and a distal closed end. The seal with an inner needle is mounted inside the hollow barrel. The tube has a proximal open end and a distal open end and is attached longitudinally to the outside surface of the hollow barrel. The needle hub is mounted inside the tube, and the needle can extend out of the distal open end of the tube. A first through hole defined in the hollow barrel and a second through hole is defined in the tube align with the first through hole. When taking blood, the needle is extended out from the distal end of the tube to take a blood sample and a vacutainer is inserted into the hollow barrel to collect a blood sample. The used needle is retracted into the tube after use to keep people from getting injured or infected.

  • Patent number: 6719722
Abstract: A safety syringe has a hollow barrel, a plug, a cord, a needle hub and a plunger. The hollow barrel has a distal open end, a proximal open end, a distal annular rib defined inside the proximal open end, a central annular rib defined inside the hollow barrel. The plug is detachably mounted inside the proximal open end of the hollow barrel. The needle hub is mounted in the plug. The plunger has a push rod and a seal mounted on the push rod and is received inside the hollow barrel. The cord connects to the plug and the seal. When using the safety syringe, the plunger pulls the cord connected to the plug, so the needle hub is pulled inside the hollow barrel to keep people from being hurt by an exposed needle.

The hollow barrel has a distal open end, a proximal open end, a distal annular rib defined on the inside surface of the proximal open end, a central annular rib defined on the inside surface of the hollow barrel.
