  • Publication number: 20110071867
Abstract: A system and method for identifying green transformation initiatives for an organization use data for analysis, the data including at least one or more industry practice values associated with metrics for determining pollutions from greenhouse gases and organization's values associated with the metrics. One or more components in the organization producing the organization's values that are worse than the industry practice values are identified at least based on the analysis. One or more transformation initiatives are discovered, for instance, using daisy chain analysis technique, for transforming the identified one or more components to at least meet the industry practice values. Benefits associated with the one or more transformation initiatives may be also determined using a calculator module. The one or more components may be transformed by implementing the one or more transformation initiatives.

  • Publication number: 20090019072
Abstract: In order to achieve interoperability between diverse types of computer systems for the purpose of e-commerce, a system and method are provided for retrieving data from multiple relational databases into an XEDI document. First, a DTDSA is used to create an intermediate format for the data. Then, an annotated interoperable (universal) DTD is used to create the XEDI document. For depositing data from an XEDI document into multiple relational databases, a reverse process is used. The universal DTD is used to create the intermediate format. Then the DTDSA is used to create the relational database format. The deposit process requires analysis of join unions of data sought to be deposited, and also a static reversibility check for the DTDSA. A GUI interface is provided for generating annotations.

  • Publication number: 20080183528
Abstract: An intelligent business event adapter receives information technology (IT) events and raw data from a backend enterprise application to capture, analyze, transform, enrich, aggregate, and correlate application-dependent IT-level events into a business level event which is communicated to a business performance monitoring (BPM) server. The adapter comprises four modules: an Event Adaptation module, a business rules module, a data retriever module, and a data transformation module. The Event Adaptation module captures and analyzes IT events from the backend enterprise application. The business rules module stores business rules. The data retriever module is invoked by the Event Adaptation module to obtain business data according to business rules stored in the business rules module. The data transformation module forms business events to be forwarded to the BPM server.

  • Publication number: 20070174115
Abstract: A method and apparatus for presenting customized presentation offers to a consumer having a shopping device prior to the consumer's check out in a retail environment is set forth. Using a keyword-driven rule-based method, the present invention identifies certain information regarding the consumer, items selected for purchase, retail environment and the like, and processes keywords relevant to the gathered information in view of rule types and available offers to select and prioritize for presentation to the consumer offers pertinent to the consumer's interests, locations and activities while in the store. The personalized offer presentation is made available to the consumer preferably through an in-store server communicating to the shopping device used by the consumer so as to provide the consumer with in-store offers prior to the consumer completing their shopping experience at check out.

  • Patent number: 5465331
Abstract: A parallel, scalable internetworking unit (IU) architecture employing at least two network controllers (NCs), a foreground buffer controller with local memory, a background buffer controller with local memory, a node processor (NP) and a buffer memory. Each network attached to the IU has an individual network controller which communicates with the foreground buffer controller. The foreground buffer controller interfaces with NCs and maintains queueing information. The background buffer controller communicates with the foreground buffer controller for maintaining packets of data as linked lists of buffers in the buffer memory. The NP communicates with both the foreground and background buffer controllers to process stored header information. And, a connection matrix is provided to dynamically interconnect multiple IUs for increased parallel processing of packet traffic and processing.
