The body has a cross-sectional shape closely corresponding to a cross-sectional shape of the opening defined by the surface. The module holder creates a snap or friction fit with the surface when the module holder is received within the opening of the surface, thereby coupling the module holder to the surface. The mounting assembly also includes a module comprising a housing having a cross-sectional shape closely corresponding to a cross-sectional shape of the channel of the module holder, and an optical component within the housing. The module is configured to be received within the channel defined by the body of the module holder.
