  • Patent number: 9334874
Abstract: The invention relates to dimensioning rules for a blade of an axial flow impeller. The dimensioning rules relate to: (i) the lengthwise dimension from the axis of rotation of the impeller to the tip of the blade; (ii) the widthwise dimension of the blade perpendicularly to the lengthwise direction; and (iii) respective angles for a plurality of folds of the blade. The invention also relates to an axial flow impeller having such blades.

  • Publication number: 20150240832
Abstract: The invention relates to a blade (4) of an axial flow impeller (1). Dimensioning rules for the blade (4) are presented: A=0.2R; B=0.2Wb; C=0.2R; D=0.2Wb; E=0.5R; F=(0.1 . . . 0.2)R; G=0.2Wb; H=0.25R; I=0.1R; J=0.4R; K=0.1Wb. The first angle ?1=6°±1°, the second angle ?2=8°±1° and the third angle ?3=19° to 25°. R is the lengthwise dimension from the axis of rotation (x) of the impeller to the tip (7) of the blade (4). Width Wb is the widthwise dimension of the blade perpendicularly to the lengthwise direction. The invention also relates to an axial flow impeller (1) having said blades (4).

  • Patent number: 8837552
Abstract: A sealing device is arranged around a rod electrode extending vertically through an aperture made in the ceiling of an arc furnace and being vertically movable inside the furnace to prevent the access of gases from the furnace through the aperture to the atmosphere, and on the other hand to prevent air from flowing from the atmosphere into the furnace. The sealing device comprises a gas distribution chamber provided with an inlet channel for feeding essentially passive gas, such as nitrogen or air, into the gas distribution chamber. The sealing device also includes a slit nozzle encasing the electrode, through which nozzle a gas jet is arranged to be discharged from the gas distribution chamber towards the electrode in a direction that is at an angle with respect to the horizontal plane and has a slightly upwards inclined orientation, and that is, with respect to the furnace interior, pointed outwardly, so that the sealing is carried out owing to the effect of the created stagnation pressure.

  • Patent number: 8206643
Abstract: A concentrate burner for feeding a pulverous concentrate mixture and reaction gas into a reaction shaft of a flash smelting furnace. The concentrate burner includes a feeder pipe for feeding a concentrate mixture into the reaction shaft and a dispersing device for directing dispersing gas to the concentrate mixture flowing around the dispersing device. For feeding the reaction gas into the reaction shaft, a gas supply device is provided which includes a reaction gas chamber for mixing the reaction gas with the concentrate mixture, and for directing the concentrate mixture to the side by the dispersing gas. The reaction gas chamber includes a turbulent flow chamber, to which an inlet channel opens tangentially for directing the reaction gas to the reaction gas chamber in a tangential direction. In the inlet channel, an adjusting member is arranged for adjusting the cross-sectional area of the reaction gas flow.
