  • Patent number: 4963011
Abstract: A raindrop and dust free vision for outside rear view car mirror is made by a mirror frame with 5 modifications. (1) The upper edge of the mirror frame protruding out about 3 cm over the mirror surface. (2) A lengthened streamlined body (giving it a larger space behind the mirror glass to enclose a wind-guiding tunnel). (3) An upward angled, tapered, and bifurcated wind-guiding tunnel inside the streamlined body. (4) Two long and narrow openings at the ends of this tunnel. (5) A rectangular hole in the middle portion of the bottom or inferior border of the mirror frame wherein an U-shaped wind-guiding panel (either fixed or adjustable) contiguous with the above-mentioned wind-guiding tunnel. The first modification makes the upper edge of the mirror frame have the function similar to the eaves of a roof to prevent raindrops from building up too much and too easily on the mirror surface.

  • Patent number: 4874195
Abstract: According to my research nearly all the glare problems produced by on-coming cars can be solved by using an anti-glare glass as small as an adult's fist with approximately only 4% transmittance to visible light. It is suspended transversely on a transparent frame secured to the ceiling by a support brace, on which there is a universal joint at each end, just above the windshield in front of driver's seat. The anti-glare glass each time will slide down automatically about 10 cm on the suspension frame by rotating a DC motor when a photocell is activated by an on-coming glare and will retract up automatically by the above-mentioned motor when the glare is gone.

  • Patent number: 4865422
Abstract: A glare-proof inside rear view mirror is provided with a glare-reducing angle adjuster by forming two recesses in an indentation formed on a lower edge of the adjuster and forming two bifurcate arms on a bifurcate bar for rotatably engaging the two recesses of the indentation whereby upon a rotation of the bifurcate bar the inside rear view mirror can be angularly adjusted for a two-stage reduction of the glass reflected from the rear view mirror. A supporting brace secured with the rear view mirror can be formed with two segments which are pivotally connected with each other and can be operated as driven by a DC motor for adjusting a bending angle between the two segments for optionally orienting the rear view mirror for anti-glare purpose.
