    Abstract: An asymmetrical stent includes a tubular shaped framework with a first region that is exclusive of a second region, both of which extend less than completely around a longitudinal axis. The first region and the second region expand responsive to inflation of a balloon positioned with the tubular shaped framework. The first region is more resistant to expansion than the second region. The tubular shaped framework includes a first plurality of barbs and a second plurality of barbs that all point away from the longitudinal axis. The first and second plurality of barbs being on respective sides of a plane that includes the longitudinal axis and bisects the first region.

    Abstract: Methods of treating diverticulosis and medical devices suitable for use in such methods are described herein. In an embodiment, a method of treating diverticulosis in an animal comprises clearing the lumen of the colon of the animal of solid matter, isolating a treatment portion of the colon, applying suction at a point within the lumen of the colon to depressurize the treatment portion, applying a material to the external surface across at least one diverticulum of the diverticula on the colon, and removing the suction. In some embodiments, the material comprises an adhesive. A step of applying a second material across at least one diverticulum of the diverticula on the colon can also be included.

    Abstract: Tissue cutting systems and methods of tissue cutting are provided. In one example, the tissue cutting system includes a first device and a second device adapted for coupling to a power supply. The first device includes a conductive probe. The second device includes a conductive material, for example, as part of an expandable structure, having an outer surface area of conductive material that may be larger than a surface area of the conductive probe. The conductive probe and the conductive material are deployed along opposite sides of a body tissue, such as an aortic dissection flap. Selective electrical power is applied to the conductive probe and the conductive material to cut the body tissue.
