Abstract: Systems, methods, and devices are provided for applying a perforation layout to an extruded film. The extruded film may be processed into film roil stock used to make individual perforated bags. A perforation layout is determined based on a desired perforation design for individual bags, and the determined layout is applied to the film by a perforating element. A variety of different perforations are accommodated by a variable perforating machine that produces perforations of different size, spacing, uniformity, and linearity. A laser perforating element may be implemented and controlled by a programming module configured to produce a particular perforation.
