  • Patent number: 9460594
Abstract: An apparatus, a system and a method positions a cable extending from an alarm system through a housing to face the cable toward the rear of an electronic device to which the cable is attached. The housing has a sensor assembly that holds a light visible through the sensor assembly to denote an alarm condition. A sensor associated with the sensor assembly connects to a corresponding sensor port in the electronic device. A joint attached to the sensor assembly rotates to position the cable. Detachment of the sensor from the port in the electronic device disrupts a circuit formed between the alarm system, the cable and the electronic device to activate the alarm condition.

  • Patent number: 9019113
Abstract: A circuit, a system and/or a method detect a passive electrical connection and/or an active electrical connection between an electrical device and a power supply. An integrity of the electrical connection between the electrical device and the power supply is monitored to determine if the electrical device may have access to power and/or to determine if the electrical device may be secure while on display. A high frequency AC signal is modulated onto a positive power rail between the electrical device and the power supply. Capacitance circuitry of the electrical device may remove the high frequency signal from the positive power rail. An absence of the high frequency signal on the positive power rail indicates that the electrical connection exists between the electrical device and the power supply. A presence of the high frequency signal on the positive power rail indicates that the electrical connection does not exist between the electrical device and the power supply.

  • Patent number: 8395907
Abstract: A multi-sensor alarm apparatus, may prevent and/or may deter a theft and/or a removal of one or more articles from a display stand. A base, a main body and a head unit are provided. The base and the main body are secured to the display stand. The multi-sensor alarm apparatus monitors an integrity of the attachment of the main body to the base with a separation sensor. Further, the multi-sensor alarm apparatus monitors sensors connected to the head unit and/or to the main body. The sensors may be removed and/or added as needed depending on the articles to be secured.

  • Publication number: 20090266963
Abstract: A clamp, a system and/or a method secures an article to a fixture. The clamp, the system and/or the method may prevent a theft and/or a removal of the article from the fixture. The clamp is attached to the article, such as, for example, a laptop computer. A vertical member extends from the clamp and may be situated within a recess of the article to prevent the clamp from being removed from the article. A tether secures the clamp and/or the article to the fixture. The vertical member of the clamp may have a plunger that may be depressed by the article while the article is situated within the clamp.

  • Publication number: 20090058643
Abstract: An alarm apparatus, a system and/or a method for securing an article are provided. The alarm apparatus, the system and/or the method may operate as an alarm system that may prevent a theft and/or a removal of the article. The alarm apparatus, the system and/or the method may have a loop alarm that may monitor whether the article is secured to a display with a tether. The loop alarm may be attached to the article, such as, for example, a portable electronic device. The article may be on display and/or may be used, manipulated, tested and/or transported by consumers. The loop alarm may have a two conductor cable that may tether the loop alarm and/or the article to a cable housing. The loop alarm may enter an alarm mode when the loop alarm detects that the loop alarm has been detached from the article and/or when the loop alarm detects that the two conductor cable has been cut and/or damaged.

  • Publication number: 20080204239
Abstract: An apparatus, a system and a method wirelessly secure and wirelessly monitor an article. The apparatus, the system and the method operate as an alarm system that may prevent a theft and/or a removal of the article from a defined perimeter and/or defined perimeters. The apparatus, the system and the method may have one or more alarm boxes that monitor one or more heads. One or more of the heads may be attached to and/or may be electronically connected to one or more articles, such as, for example, portable electronic equipment. The articles be provided on display in and/or may be used, manipulated and/or transported by consumers in a store environment. The alarm box may be installed in close proximity to a display stand of the article. The alarm box may charge components of the head and/or the article while the head and/or the article are located on the display stand of the article.
