Abstract: A diagnostic device which enables measurement of fibrinogen concentration in a blood sample. The device comprises; a wettable testing substrate including viewing indicators which allow determination of a status of a test. The substrate has a first end and second end and intermediate therebetween a flow receiving zone, a flow path zone and a reaction zone; the reaction zone pre charged with at least one reagent. A blood sample to be tested is deposited near or in either of said flow receiving zone or said reaction zone, the sample reacting with the reagents inducing clotting of the sample. Water added to a dye added to said reaction zone, advances a distance along said substrate. The distance travelled along the substrate by the dye and through the sample is indicative of a measure of concentration of fibrinogen in said blood sample under test.

Abstract: A storage device for holding at least one article the device comprising a generally cubic body including side and end walls defining an internal space which receives and retains therein said at least one said articles, at least one said walls including an inwardly extending formation which allows the at least one article to be suspended in the internal space; at least one said walls including a recess which allows nesting engagement of one said device with a like storage device such that at least one device is stackable on another like device; while accommodating said articles in said internal space.

Abstract: A method for incubating reagents, suspensions and/or biological products to a predetermined temperature for biological testing; the method comprising the steps of: a) providing a selected biological product in a receptacle and which is required to be incubated to a temperature which simulates a natural thermal environment of the biological product; b) applying controlled heating to or near the biological product using at least one laser emitting from a laser source for a time sufficient to reach a target temperature or which simulates a target temperature of the natural thermal environment in which the biological product exists.

Abstract: A method for tracking biological products from a source to a destination, the method comprising the steps of; a) identifying and compiling data related to characteristics and identity of a product; b) taking a container capable of holding the biological product and including with the container a device capable of transmitting and/or receiving and/or storing data related to the product; b) uploading the data into the data storage device associated with the product; c) providing at least one data reader capable of reading data stored in and/or transmitted from the storage device; d) transporting the product from an origin to a predetermined destination; e) during transmission from the origin to the destination, monitoring location and condition parameters of the product.
