  • Publication number: 20080061604
Abstract: A modular vehicle headliner assembly includes a generally planar headliner substrate for mounting over an interior portion of a vehicle roof. An air duct is attached to one side of the substrate. An air-curtain assembly is attached to the air duct. The air duct supports the air-curtain assembly relative to the substrate.

  • Patent number: 7066374
Abstract: A method of installing trim rings to headliner trims systems in motor vehicles comprising a trim ring, a headliner, and a sonic horn and stack. The sonic horn vibrates to bond/weld headliner to trim ring. Energy directors can be added to facilitate bonding/welding process. Fasteners can also be added for attachment to the vehicle body. This bonding/welding of the headliner to trim ring creates a smooth, molded look for the trim ring and does so without gapping to or sliding within the headliner.

  • Publication number: 20060035502
Abstract: A vehicle overhead module powerstrip assembly (14) includes an overhead attachment strip (40), an electrically conductive strip (44), and a modular connector (48). The overhead attachment strip (40) is configured to couple to a vehicle overhead structure (28). The electrically conductive strip (44) is coupled to the attachment strip (40). The modular connector (48) is configured to couple an overhead electronic module (18) to the electrically conductive strip (44). The modular connector (48) includes electrical contacts (46) that have multiple attachment positions along the electrically conductive strip (40).

  • Patent number: 6863326
Abstract: A lateral track movement system for a display screen attached to the ceiling of a motor vehicle utilizing a dockable connector. This system allows the display screen to slide across tracks to any desired position along the track for more comfortable viewing of the display screen by the passengers in the motor vehicle. This system allows for the display screen to utilize a dockable connection so that the electrical connection is made at the point of connection, which is outside of the interior of the ceiling or side panels. This lateral track movement system comprises an upper reinforcement assembly, a carrier assembly, a lower reinforcement assembly, at least one wire, and a spool.

  • Patent number: 6749255
Abstract: A seamless plastic tubular air duct is formed by a blow molding process. The air duct is attached to upper surface of a vehicle headliner and controls the flow of air between the vehicle air circulation system and vents to the passenger compartment. Attachment points may be formed upon the outer surface of the air duct for securing other vehicle components to the headliner.
