  • Publication number: 20200082707
Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatuses for securing property are presented. Video content viewed by a user may be detected, and the user may be automatically prompted to change settings on a security system based on the detecting. A comparison of the current time with the duration of the video content may serve as the basis for such prompting. Additionally, a premise security system may be placed in a learning mode. Changes in position of a security sensor may be detected and used to set a permitted range of motion for the sensor. Further, a plurality of security sensor profiles may be stored, and each profile may identify a different predefined permitted range of motion of a sensor. The addition of a new sensor to a premise may be detected, and a user may be prompted, on a display, to identify a profile to be used for the new sensor.

  • Patent number: 10530406
Abstract: Methods and systems for interference management are described. Methods and systems can be used for minimizing interference among communication and/or electronic devices. Interference data can be gathered/received from interference sources such as weather and natural patterns, various electronic devices, and one or more network protocols. The interference data can be used to generate interference patterns of each interference source in an interference map. The interference map can be used to determine how a particular interference pattern can affect a system. The interference map can also be used to evaluate a new source of interference (e.g., cordless phones, weather conditions) to determine how a system can be affected. The interference data can also be associated with an interference signature (e.g., an interference pattern, a fingerprint) for an interference source in a database. The database can be used based on the interference signature to identify known and/or unknown interference sources.

  • Publication number: 20190320232
Abstract: A media server is hosted in a service provider's network so that media content can be stored from or rendered to a private network such as a Digital Living Network Alliance network. Media content may be stored by accessing the media server or by downloading the media content to the media server. Support of set top boxes interacting with voice-on-demand (VOD) controllers and computers interacting with IP-based video content servers are integrated through the media server. Consequently, VOD assets can be played on IP-based devices and IP-based content can be played on set top boxes. A gateway function converts IP-based content to a VOD asset, and renders the VOD asset to a set top box while mapping digital rights management information for the VOD asset. Conversely, the gateway function may convert a VOD asset to IP-based content that can be played on an IP-based device.

  • Patent number: 9792806
Abstract: A computing device may communicate with a mobile node via a wireless link, and may determine if the mobile node is within range or out of range. In response to that determination, the computing device may cause various actions to occur, such as opening a door, unlocking a door, arming/disarming a monitoring system, activating a light, or other actions.

  • Publication number: 20170213447
Abstract: Methods are disclosed that, in some aspects, provide detecting an alarm event, determining whether the alarm event is a deviation from predefined criteria, and transmitting an alert notification to users of the security system if the alarm event is a deviation from the predefined criteria. The predefined criteria may relate to the location or type of one or more sensors of the security system, the location of users of the security system, the time of day, activities within the premises, and/or behavioral patterns of the users learned by the security system. Information transmitted in the alert notification may relate to the location of one or more users of the security system, the data recorded by one or more sensors of the security system, the state of alert of the security system, and/or confidential information required to terminate the alarm event.

  • Publication number: 20160321911
Abstract: Methods, systems, computer-readable media, and apparatuses for expanding the functionality of a security system are disclosed. The security system may be integrated with a vehicle security system. For example, a vehicle security node of a vehicle may transmit a signal that may be received by the security system. The security system may authenticate the vehicle security node and integrate the vehicle security node into its network. Various information may be communicated in both directions between the security system and the vehicle security node. The vehicle security node may communicate with an alarm panel that may include a dock for connecting a portable device.
