  • Patent number: 9497148
Abstract: Methods and systems to predictively determine to perform a computing activity based on contextual information. Context-based criteria are defined based relationships between user-computing activity and contextual information, and are evaluated based on updated contextual information to determine whether to perform the computing activity. Context-based criteria may be defined to predictively identify content to be transferred/synchronized/updated and/or deleted, and/or to select one or more of multiple devices to receive content. Content may be selectively synchronized across devices of a user and/or shared with another user(s). Context-based criteria may relate to, without limitation, location, activity, computer-usage patterns, motion, and/or schedule of a user, device location, user/device proximity, relationships amongst content, users, and/or devices. Context-based computing environment parameters may be provided to pre-loaded content on device (e.g.

  • Publication number: 20160314290
Abstract: Technologies for authenticating a user to a computing device include determining a hair follicle pattern of a portion of the user's skin and comparing the determined hair follicle pattern to an authenticated hair follicle pattern to authenticate the user. The hair follicle pattern of the portion of the user's skin may, be generated by a camera of the computing device, and the authenticated hair follicle pattern may be stored in a secure storage of the computing device. Features of the computing device may be enabled based on the particular authenticated hair follicle pattern to which the determined hair follicle matches. Additionally, in some embodiments, one or more additional biometric authentications may be used, and the user may be authenticated based on the particular combination of the authenticated hair follicle pattern and the additional biometric authentication(s).

  • Publication number: 20160191591
Abstract: Technologies for crowdsourced media streaming include a number of mobile computing devices configured to capture media streams and transmit the media streams to a media server. The media server associates the media streams with metadata describing the media streams, including metadata describing an event captured in the media stream. The media server also processes the media streams to generate additional metadata. A number of client computing devices may submit media stream requests to the media server, and the media server contemporaneously streams matching media streams to the client computing devices as the media streams are captured by the mobile computing devices. The client computing devices may transmit feedback information relating to the media stream to the source mobile computing device via the media server. The client computing devices may display the media streams alongside or overlaying other media such as a broadcast media event. Other embodiments are described and claimed.
