    Abstract: A cylindrical battery and an electric apparatus, including an electrode assembly. The electrode assembly includes a positive electrode plate, a separator, and a negative electrode plate stacked and wound together. The positive electrode plate includes a positive current collector. The positive current collector has a first surface, the first surface is provided with an active material layer, an insulation layer, and an uncoated foil area arranged in order along an axial direction of the cylindrical battery. The electrode assembly further includes a flattened part, the flattened part being formed by bending and overlapping the uncoated foil area towards a central axis of winding of the electrode assembly and having a flattened surface. The insulation layer provides support for the positive current collector, preventing a short circuit caused by the flattened part folding over to exceed the separator and contact the negative electrode plate.

    Abstract: Systems and methods for implementing a transducer module architecture that enhances sensitivity of an ultrasound system are described. To enhance sensitivity while using a transducer element for transmission and reception, a transducer module's architecture provides operation-specific impedance matching. Operation-specific impedance matching means that different impedances are provided for mitigating mismatch loss during transmission and reception. The impedance provided for reception can be associated with separate signal path with a smaller amount of attenuation compared to the impedance provided for transmission. In this way, the architecture enhances sensitivity of the ultrasound system by reducing an amount of attenuation experienced during reception compared to other ultrasound systems that utilize a same impedance for impedance matching during transmission and reception.

    Abstract: SARS-CoV-2 has raised the alarm to search for effective therapy for this virus. To date several vaccines have been approved, but few available drugs reported recently still need approval from FDA. Antiviral compositions having niclosamide derivatives were prepared for treating COVID-19. Using a FRET-based enzymatic assay, three niclosamide derivatives, JMX0286, JMX0301, and JMX0941, were identified as potent allosteric inhibitors against SARS-CoV-2 3CLpro, with IC50 values similar to that of known covalent inhibitor boceprevir. In a cell-based antiviral assay, these inhibitors can inhibit the virus growth with EC50 in the range of 2-3 ?M. The mechanism of action of JMX0286, JMX0301, and JMX0941 were characterized by enzyme kinetics, affinity binding and protein-based substrate digestion. Molecular docking suggested that JMX0286, JMX0301, and JMX0941 bind specifically to an allosteric pocket of the SARS-CoV-2 3CL protease.
