  • Publication number: 20240371646
Abstract: In one embodiment, a method of processing a substrate in a chemical mechanical polishing (CMP) system, comprises determining an orientation of a substrate relative to a first carrier head. The method further includes initiating a polishing process of a surface of the substrate engaged with a polishing pad. The method further includes scanning, during the polishing process, a first portion of the surface of the substrate repeatedly using at least one endpoint sensor coupled to the polishing pad to generate orientation dependent scan data of a property of the first portion of the surface. The method further includes comparing the orientation dependent scan data to a library of orientation dependent scan data to determine when the endpoint of the polishing process has been reached.

  • Publication number: 20240359291
Abstract: A method of processing a substrate includes polishing a front surface of a substrate on a first pad coupled to a first platen. The method further includes transferring the substrate from the first pad to a second pad coupled to a second platen with a carrier head. The method further includes moving the carrier head to a scan position to place an edge of the substrate above an orientation sensor disposed at a rotational center of the second pad. The method further includes scanning the edge of the substrate with the orientation sensor to produce a signal. The method further includes analyzing the signal to locate a reference mark of the substrate to determine a rotational orientation of the substrate relative to the carrier head.

  • Publication number: 20240358352
Abstract: Systems and methods for an ultrasound scanner with an impact-resistance system are described. In some implementations, the impact-resistance system reduces acceleration components associated with an impact force applied to an enclosure of the ultrasound scanner or directly to an acoustic lens of a transducer array of the ultrasound scanner. The impact-resistance system distributes the acceleration components from the transducer array to the enclosure via couplings with soft and elastic materials. Some of the couplings may be located between the enclosure and elongated members embedded in backing material of the transducer array. Some of the couplings may be located between the enclosure and a flange that extends from the acoustic lens into a channel in the enclosure. Implementing the impact-resistance system described herein improves reliability of the transducer array without sacrificing performance or usability, particularly for ultraportable scanners.

  • Publication number: 20240306512
Abstract: Systems and methods for a multi-layer flexible array interconnect for an ultrasound transducer, and methods of manufacture are disclosed. The systems and methods described herein provide consistent and controllable alignment between the odd and even flex layers. Further, ground layers are added between the signal layers to improve crosstalk performance while simplifying the construction. In some implementations, vias are introduced at the interface of an electromechanical-array element (e.g., lead zirconate titanate (PZT) element) to increase the surface area of conductive material and thereby increase the quality of the electrical and physical connections. In addition, a machining alignment and verification aid is provided through strategic use of unused and discarded board area to enable (i) alignment check of the flex circuit with the machining equipment and (ii) adjustment of the flex circuit position relative to the machining equipment to avoid the flex circuit being machined to an unusable state.

  • Publication number: 20240213987
Abstract: Adaptive clock gating may provide improved power management of electronic devices. Clock gating may include removing a clock signal to state elements when those state elements are not being used, and the adaptive clock gating may provide improved clock gating for higher-level clock gates operating at increased frequencies. In an example, the adaptive clock gating may enable clock gating for higher-level clock gates within IP blocks that may be otherwise prevented from using clock gating due to timing requirements. The adaptive clock gating may be used to reduce power consumed by the clock distribution of IP blocks, thereby providing improved power efficiency. An adaptive clock gating circuit may include an IP clock frequency control unit with an adaptive clock gating logic circuit. The adaptive clock gating logic circuit may be used to selectively enable or disable high-level clock gates for the target IP based on a selected clock frequency.
