  • Publication number: 20130152446
Abstract: The present invention is a gun barrel light to illuminate an interior of a barrel of a gun that includes an acrylic solid rod with a distal end and a proximal end wherein the distal end is curved at an approximate 45 degree angle, the distal end of the solid rod is inserted into the interior of the barrel of a firearm to illuminate the interior of the barrel and an external light source that emits and directs light that illuminates the interior of the barrel of the firearm. The gun barrel light has two embodiments and widths and can accommodate a .22 caliber handgun or a .45 caliber rifle.

  • Publication number: 20070280867
Abstract: An apparatus for sterilizing various articles includes a chamber defining an airtight space and an entrance and exit. A vacuum pump is coupled to the chamber for withdrawing air therefrom which reduces the chamber air pressure. An ozone generator is coupled to the chamber for introducing ozone at atmospheric pressure therein following air withdrawal. This causes efficient diffusing of the ozone into the article for sterilizing it against anthrax. The ozone is then withdrawn into an ozone filter having a non-consumable catalyst for converting the ozone back into oxygen. The apparatus may be implemented using single or multiple chambers. A conveyor extending through water chambers surrounding respective sterilizing chambers may be utilized for conveying textile articles while more traditional conveyors may be utilized for traditional mail articles.

  • Publication number: 20070084072
Abstract: This invention provides a framework for simplified and rigorous methods and means for the determination of the squareness error between two orthogonally driven carriages of a machine. The method uses the principle of a geometric kite in which the lines formed between opposing vertices are inherently orthogonal. By utilizing a partial kite-shaped structure having three measurable datums associated with three of the vertices of a geometric kite and by rotating the structure about the line of rotation formed by two of the three datums, the positions of the third vertex will form a circle that has the property the plane in which it lies is orthogonal to the original line. Additionally, any two points located on the circle will form a line that is orthogonal to the line of rotation. The structure is measured in multiple orientations attached to the table of a machine.

  • Patent number: 6434845
Abstract: A force characterization device utilizes a flexure having a compliant portion and a solid portion. During operation of a coordinate measuring machine (CMM) on the solid portion of the flexure, a first capacitance probe detects displacement of the solid portion of the flexure in a first dimension and a second capacitance probe detects displacement of the solid portion of the flexure in a second dimension perpendicular to the first dimension. The detected displacements in the first and second dimensions of the solid portion of the flexure are correlated to forces applied to the flexure in the first and second dimensions based on the detected displacements and the predetermined spring constant of the compliant portion of the flexure. A total applied force is determined based on the forces applied to the flexure in the first and second dimensions. The flexure may be utilized for touch-trigger operations or scanning operations of the CMM.
