Patent number: 9867325Abstract: A steering system for a work vehicle includes a steering hand pump, a hydraulic main supply line fluidly coupled with the steering hand pump and including a check valve, and a normally open, two position valve. The valve includes an inlet fluidly couplable with a pressurized access point of a hydraulic sub-system, an outlet fluidly coupled with the main supply line on a downstream side of the check valve, and a pilot port fluidly coupled with the main supply line on an upstream side of the check valve. The valve is operable in the closed position based on pressure in the main supply line when the main supply line is pressurized from a pressure source, and operable in the open position and interconnecting the pressurized access point with the main supply line through the outlet when the main supply line is not pressurized from the pressure source.Type: GrantFiled: April 17, 2015Date of Patent: January 16, 2018Assignee: CNH Industrial America LLCInventors: Jimmie D. Clifford, Brent E. Smith, Bruce E. Anderson, Jeffrey C. Trowbridge, Guy H. J. Osselaere, Rik Vandendriessche, Carlos J. A. Verheye, Wim Leplae

Patent number: 5743366Abstract: Disclosed is a modulating hydraulic circuit for controlling a clutch such as the clutch on a power takeoff (PTO) shaft. The circuit includes a throttling valve having (a) an inlet port for receiving hydraulic fluid from a source, and (b) a discharge port connected to the clutch. The discharge port is also connected to an accumulator which is at an accumulator pressure. The discharge port and the clutch are at a pressure generally proportional to the accumulator pressure. As accumlator pressure rises at a controlled rate, the clutch is progressively engaged. Optionally, the circuit includes a brake control valve for "softly" disengaging a PTO shaft brake as the accumulator pressure rises. A method for controlling the clutch includes flowing hydraulic fluid through hydraulic lines to a throttling valve connected to an accumulator and to the clutch, increasing pressure in the lines and progressively engaging the clutch.Type: GrantFiled: September 23, 1996Date of Patent: April 28, 1998Assignee: Case CorporationInventors: Guy T. Patent number: 4249558Abstract: A bypass valve includes a valve body containing a spring loaded valve member. The valve body includes first and second interconnected bores respectively connected to the outlet and inlet of a fluid pump feeding a fluid function. A valve member slidably disposed in the valve bores includes a cylindrical portion and a frusto-conical portion cooperating with the first and second bores to provide a predetermined pressure drop across both portions at a first flow rate with cold fluid and at a second flow rate with hot fluid. The spring is set so as to allow fluid to bypass from the pump outlet to the inlet until the predetermined pressure drop is exceeded.Type: GrantFiled: November 9, 1978Date of Patent: February 10, 1981Assignee: Deere & CompanyInventors: Jimmie D.
