    Abstract: A boundary layer structure, useful in a fuel cell, includes a solid electrolyte and an electrode. The electrode consists essentially of a perovskite base material and a platinum group metal oxide addition, along the boundary between the perovskite and the electrolyte. Iridium oxide is a preferred metal oxide addition material, while a preferred perovskite is lanthanum ferrite, which contains Sr and either Co or Mn.
