  • Patent number: 5460420
Abstract: There is disclosed herein a molded plastic front bumper beam for a vehicle. The bumper beam includes upper and lower separate hollow compartments for carrying selected fluids. The upper and lower compartments are interconnected by an integral front wall segment. Dual openings are formed in the rear portion of each compartment adapted to accommodate receiving and dispensing fluids, such as radiator coolant, windshield washer fluid, rear window washer fluid, and/or head lamp washer fluid.

  • Patent number: 4900235
Abstract: A windshield washer pump including comprising an impeller chamber having a reversible impeller rotatably mounted therein and an inlet for windshield washer fluid communicating therewith. Dual outlets communicate between the impeller chamber and opposite ends of an adjacent outlet chamber. A piston is slidably mounted in the outlet chamber intermediate axially aligned tubular discharge passages extending from the outlet chamber. Oppositely disposed projections are formed on the piston for being alternately urged into engagement with the tubular discharge passages, permitting the alternate pumping of fluid through the tubular discharge passages.

  • Patent number: 4633763
Abstract: A switch and valve assembly for inflating or deflating a pair of bladders mounted in the back and seat regions of a vehicle seat. The assembly houses two normally-closed valve assemblies and two normally-open electrical switch assemblies, with two pushbutton-actuated stems adapted to selectively either partially open the valve assemblies by partial depression of the pushbuttons to thereby bleed-off fluid under pressure from respective bladders, or to fully open the valve assemblies while closing the switch assemblies by full depression of the pushbuttons to thereby actuate the pump to provide fluid under pressure to fill the respective bladders as desired for operator riding comfort or support. Pressures in the two bladders may be changed individually or concurrently.

  • Patent number: 4386625
Abstract: A valve system includes features to control flow of fuel between a pair of fuel tanks during a transfer operation so as to prevent flow of return fuel from a carburetor back to a previously filled tank. The valve system includes a pair of valve bodies each having two mechanically operated sealing elements therein. One of the valve bodies has larger inlet and outlet ports to control the supply of fuel from the source tank of the system to a vehicle carburetor. The other of the valve bodies has smaller ports to control the flow of excess fuel flow to the selected source tank of the pair of tanks during engine operation. Each of the valve bodies includes a push rod operatively connected to a single motor drive yoke element. Each sealing element is spring biased and has an insert directed therethrough constituting a seal carrier slidably supported on the push rod.
