Abstract: A system for pivoting a discharge chute of a mower includes a cable attached at one end to a coupling at the top surface of a chute near the free end of the chute, trained on a pulley at a height above the height of the top surface of the chute, and attached at the other end to a handle. An operator can easily reach the handle and move it to a retainer, which releasably holds the handle. When the handle is in the retainer, the chute is forced to pivot to a raised (i.e., upright) position.
