  • Publication number: 20180338490
Abstract: One aspect of the present disclosure relates to a bag for storing platelets or contaminated blood previously withdrawn from a subject. The bag can comprise a flexible, closed container and at least one removable heat transfer member adhered to an outer surface portion of the container. The container can include an inlet therein that forms part of the container. The inlet can be adapted for fluid-tight connection to a tube member through which the platelets or contaminated blood are caused to flow.

  • Patent number: 8783279
Abstract: A tubular fluid flow device of varying outside dimensions adapted for use in a high pressure, rapidly cycling temperature environment, an isolation ball valve, a ball valve isolation method and a catalyst transfer method. The flow device 10 can have a tubular member 12 having at least one locus 14, 16 of non-uniform outside dimension and an axial flow passage 20 with a uniform inside diameter between opposite end connection elements. A thermal sleeve liner 22 can be disposed about the axial flow passage in a bore 24 formed in the tubular member, wherein the sleeve comprises an outer surface having a thermal barrier coating 26. A pressure-relief passage 28 is provided in fluid communication between the axial flow passage and an interface between an exterior surface of the thermal sleeve liner and an inner surface of the bore.

  • Patent number: 6835449
Abstract: A ball valve for use in the pressure acid leaching of nickel ores is disclosed. The valve has a valve body and a ball centrally positioned in the valve body, which has a central passage rotatable in the valve body between open and closed positions. At least one seat is disposed between the ball and the valve body. The ball and seat each comprise a titanium substrate and an ultrafine or nanostructured titania coating. The titania can include from 5 to 45 volume percent of a second phase material that is immiscible with the titania and exhibits corrosion resistance.

  • Publication number: 20010054212
Abstract: A rechargeable industrial broom is provided having a base unit having an overall width of approximately 24 inches. At the base are formed an intake orifice, and stationary bristles. The stationary bristles are attached to the broom by means of a 12 inch suction pipe and a swivel nozzle. The nozzle allows the broom to move at any angle. A bag, similar in design to the conventional vacuum bag, is connected to the back of the unit. The cloth bag snaps onto a discharge orifice, and debris captured by the broom eventually makes its way to this bag. At the bottom of the bag is a zipper for waste removal. The broom is powered by a 12-volt in-line motor. A rechargeable adapter can be incorporated directly into the interior of the broom.

  • Patent number: 4703850
Abstract: A shoe box is disclosed for safely and temporarily holding shoes of a hotel guest on the outside of a hotel room door so that the shoes can be picked up, shined and returned and which does not require that the hotel guest have a key to open the shoe box. The box is substantially rectangularly shaped and includes a top wall, a bottom wall and a pair of side walls. The back of the box includes a border around the perimeter defining an opening for insertion and removal of the shoes by the guest when the box is removed from the door. A hinged cover including a lock can only be opened by an attendant for removing the shoes for polishing or for replacing them. The top rear of the box carries a bracket which fits over the top of a door to suspend the box thereon with the back of the box flush against the door. Cushing material on the back of the box and on the inside of the cover reduce the noise which would otherwise be created when the box was being hung on the door or when the cover was being closed.
