  • Patent number: 6773037
Abstract: A plastic bracket (10) including a screw housing cover (26) and a pair of opposing tabs (28) is pressed over a screw housing (12) of a worm drive clamp (14) to secure the worm drive clamp (14) to a hose (24). The tabs (28) can extend either be inside or outside of the screw housing cover (26). A protrusion (46) located on each of the opposing inner surfaces (48) of the screw housing cover (26) retain the bracket (10) over the screw housing (12). End caps (40) and (44) molded across opposing sides of the screw housing cover (26) maintain the position of the screw housing (12) in the screw housing cover (26) during assembly and prevent the sliding of the worm drive clamp (14).

  • Patent number: 5398729
Abstract: A fuel hose is provided which can be cured into a predetermined shape and which contains a layer of material which, in the final form of the hose, provides a continuous barrier to permeation of fuel through the walls of the hose. A method of making such a hose is disclosed which includes steps added to known hose manufacturing methods, using a thin fuel impermeable tape, which may include a continuous metallic layers and which is wound helically about an inner uncured tubular rubber extrusion with the edges of the tape overlapping. The tape has a heat activated adhesive thereon which will function, when an outer uncured rubber layer is added and the composite uncured hose is placed in an autoclave for vulcanization, to form a continuous impermeable intermediate layer in the hose.

  • Patent number: 4322963
Abstract: Apparatus for bending valve stems of inner tubes used primarily in truck tires which facilitates locating the area of bending contemporeous with readily controlling the bend angle of the stems. An apertured clevis is pivotally mounted on a housing that is grooved to receive a valve stem, with a cylinder and piston connected to the clevis for actuating same with respect to the housing to effect a bending of the valve stem. The housing contains a cylinder and piston for actuating rack and pinion members with suitable indicia provided on the pinion for imprinting upon the valve stem. The cylinder and piston members for the bender and the marker are controlled by an air lock safety system.
