    Abstract: A decorative insulated window assembly includes first and second spaced apart, opposed, light transmissive panels and a spacer member interposed between the first and second panels such that the spacer member and the first and second panels define a chamber. A light transmissive decorative sheet is interposed between the first and second panels and within the chamber. The decorative sheet is formed of thermoplastic material and has a three-dimensional decorative pattern formed therein by vacuum forming. Preferably, the decorative sheet is not secured to any of the first and second panels and the spacer member. Preferably, the decorative sheet has a substantially uniform thickness.

    Abstract: A door frame assembly for use in framing residential entranceways. The door frame assembly includes a support panel, a base strip, and a stop strip. The support panel provides strength to the door frame assembly while the base and stop strips provide weather resistance and a desired appearance. The door frame assembly may also include a brick molding strip. An extension strip may be used to adapt the door frame assembly for use in framing a garage door. The door frame assembly may also be modified to form a mullion post for use in patio doors and the like.

    Abstract: A relatively rigid polymeric retaining device is provided for attachment to a pre-hung door assembly. The device includes a planar surface for placement against the door face and includes a cylindrical insert for placement within the hardware bore or opening. A stabilizer is attached perpendicularly to the device for assisting in spacing and holding the door in a fixed position relative to the frame. The retaining device is attached by small staples or the like and once the door is installed in a wall the device can easily be removed without damage to the door or frame.

    Abstract: A laminate and process for forming the same are demonstrated herein whereby a solid wood lamina is adhered to a corrugated lamina by conventional gluing techniques. The laminate so formed is light in weight and has excellent structural qualities and is useful in manufacturing arcuate and other frames for windows, doors, or other preformed assemblies which are relatively low in cost and which can be produced efficiently.
