Publication number: 20240264116Abstract: A monitoring system detects and measures a quantity of radical particles within a gas. A test chamber is coupled to a flow channel that transmits a gas. The test chamber defines an aperture connecting the test chamber and the flow channel, and the aperture permits a subset of the gas to enter the test chamber from the flow channel. An ionizer is positioned within the test chamber and generates radical ions from radical particles of the subset of the gas. A mass spectrometer measures a quantity of the radical ions, thereby providing a measurement of the radical particles in the gas.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 29, 2024Publication date: August 8, 2024Applicant: MKS Instruments, Inc.Inventors: Chenglong Yang, Jimmy Liu, James Edward Blessing

Publication number: 20240171579Abstract: An example method is performed by one or more processors of a gateway computing system. The method includes receiving, from a user computing system, a request to access a software application hosted on a server with which the gateway computing system is in communication. The method also includes in response to receiving the request, communicating with the user computing system to obtain a credential for the software application issued to a user of the user computing system. The method also includes comparing the credential to credential data stored on a distributed ledger to determine whether the credential meets a set of conditions. The method also includes in response to determining that the credential meets the set of conditions, establishing an authorized session between the user computing system and the server such that communication between the user computing system and the server passes through the gateway computing system.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 22, 2022Publication date: May 23, 2024Inventors: Baris F. Publication number: 20170183912Abstract: An off-axis “cam” drilling tool is provided. The off-axis “cam” drilling tool includes an outer tubing having a throughbore therein, an inner tubing having a throughbore therein, the inner tubing being configured to be inserted within the throughbore of the outer tubing. An annulus is defined between the inner tubing and the throughbore of the outer tubing through which a medium may pass. A cam section can be configured on a portion of the exterior surface of the outer tubing. The outer tubing can be coupled to drill rods of a drill string. The cam section has an axis that is offset to an axis of the outer tubing, and the tool is configured to rotate about cam section axis to lift the drill rods coupled to the outer tubing above a centerline of a drill bore to beneficially orient the drill bit drilling the drill bore.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 13, 2017Publication date: June 29, 2017Inventor: Jimmy Edward Toler

Publication number: 20140000626Abstract: This invention relates to medical breathing tubes comprising a tubular body, the body defining a lumen extending between open terminal ends of the body and an internal form enclosed within the lumen and supportive of the tubular body. The internal form may be of a coated encapsulated internal form, the coating securing the internal form to the tubular body. The internal form may also or separately provide for a series of alternative crests and troughs (e.g. corrugations) of the tubular body. Patient interfaces (such as masks or nasal cannula) can be connected to such tubing. A system for securing patient interfaces in an operational position may also be utilised.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 18, 2011Publication date: January 2, 2014Applicant: FISHER & PAYKEL HEALTHCARE LIMITEDInventors: Mark Thomas O'Connor, Jimmy Edward Eaton-Evans, Neil Gray Duthie, Brent Ian Laing, Steven Charles Korner, Laurence Gulliver, Puqing Zhang, Andrew Grant Niccol, Charles William Douglas Irving, Craig Karl White, Caroline Geraldine Hopkins, Michael Paul Ronayne, Callum James Thomas Spence

Publication number: 20060237254Abstract: A vehicle ignition interlock system includes a breath analyzer and a controller operably connected to the breath analyzer and to an ignition system of the vehicle. The breath analyzer detects breath alcohol level of a vehicle operator and prevents vehicle ignition if a breath alcohol level is greater than or equal to a threshold value. The controller requires the vehicle operator to periodically take breath analyzer “retests” after vehicle ignition in order to allow vehicle operation to continue. The breath analyzer includes first and second alcohol sensors. The second alcohol sensor is a backup for the first alcohol sensor and becomes operational if the first alcohol sensor malfunctions. The first or second alcohol sensors may be a mouth contamination sensor that distinguishes between mouth contaminants and alcohol contained within a deep lung breath sample. The system also includes sensors configured to detect impact (abuse) and vehicle motion.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 25, 2005Publication date: October 26, 2006Inventors: Larry Mobley, Brian McMillin, Jimmy Edwards, James Lewis

Publication number: 20060237253Abstract: A vehicle ignition interlock system includes a breath analyzer and a controller operably connected to the breath analyzer and to an ignition system of the vehicle. The controller compares detected breath alcohol levels of the vehicle operator with a threshold value, and is configured to prevent vehicle ignition if a breath alcohol level detected by the breath analyzer is greater than or equal to a threshold value. The controller also requires the vehicle operator to periodically take breath analyzer retests after vehicle ignition in order to allow vehicle operation to continue. The controller can reduce the frequency of periodic retests in response to one or more retests when the breath alcohol level of the vehicle operator is below a threshold value. The system may include a transdermal alcohol sensor, a mouth contamination sensor, a mouth contamination sensor, and redundant alcohol sensors.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 25, 2005Publication date: October 26, 2006Inventors: Larry Mobley, Brian McMillin, Jimmy Edwards, James Lewis
