  • Publication number: 20070078367
Abstract: The present invention relates to a self-adhering bandage that is secured in place without an adhesive/skin contact point. One embodiment of the bandage comprises a nonstick dressing component positioned at one end of a first side of the backing component. The bandage further comprises an attachment mechanism disposed on the second side of the backing component. The attachment mechanism is configured for attaching to the bandage instead of the patient thereby providing a bandage that does not include adhesives intended to stick to a patient's skin. The bandage may further comprise a substance storage area that houses a substance that is transferred to the dressing component when pressure is applied to the substance storage area. The bandage may also be perforated so that the sections of the bandage can be removed as needed to better fit the size of a wound.
