Publication number: 20240054221Abstract: Embodiments include methods performed by a computing device to obtain trusted computing services (TCS) from service providers (SPs). Such methods include querying one or more remote service databases for one or more TCS required by a user of the computing device or by an application executing on the computing device. The query for each required TCS includes identification of software required to provide the required TCS, and one or more indicia of trust for any computing platform that provides the required TCS. Such methods include receiving, from the remote service databases, information related to one or more available TCS and corresponding SPs of the available TCS and, based on the received information, selecting one of the available TCS and establishing a connection with the SP corresponding to the selected TCS. Embodiments include complementary methods performed by SPs and remote service databases, as well as apparatus configured to perform such methods.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 12, 2021Publication date: February 15, 2024Inventors: Jari Arkko, Jimmy Kjällman

Patent number: 11375434Abstract: A method and a mesh node (200) for enabling communication of packets in a wireless mesh network with multiple mesh nodes. When receiving (2:2) an original advertisement message with a Bloom filter initiated by an original gateway (204), it is detected that a predetermined maximum fill rate is reached in the received Bloom filter. The mesh node (200) starts to act as an intermediate gateway and creates a new advertisement message (2:3) comprising a new initiated Bloom filter with a reduced fill rate. The new advertisement message is then transmitted (2:4) with the new Bloom filter while indicating that the new advertisement message originates from said original gateway (204).Type: GrantFiled: June 19, 2018Date of Patent: June 28, 2022Assignee: TELEFONAKTIEBOLAGET LM ERICSSON (PUBL)Inventors: Petri Laari, Jan Melén, Jimmy Kjällman

Patent number: 11303636Abstract: Using an authentication server to program network elements, such as a network node, in accordance with software-defined networking techniques in order to establish a traffic flow rule for a communication device or user of the communication device. After successfully authenticating a communication device or user, the authentication server and/or network node may use an identifier received at the authentication server in connection with the authentication procedure in order to obtain a traffic flow rule for the communication device. The traffic flow rule may be established at the network node or forwarded to a second network node configured to receive network packets from the communication device. The first identifier may be any one of a user identifier identifying a user, an application identifier identifying an application, and a device identifier unique to the communication device.Type: GrantFiled: August 28, 2015Date of Patent: April 12, 2022Assignee: TELEFONAKTIEBOLAGET LM ERICSSON (PUBL)Inventors: Heidi-Maria Back, Jari Arkko, Tero Kauppinen, Jimmy Kjällman, Miika Komu, Tomas Mecklin, Patrik Salmela, Mohit Sethi, Le Wang

Publication number: 20190028475Abstract: Embodiments are directed to using an authentication server (140) to program and reprogram network elements, such as a network node (150), in accordance with software-defined networking techniques in order to establish a traffic flow rule for a communication device (110) or user of the communication device (110). After successfully authenticating a communication device (110) or user, the authentication server (140) and/or network node (150) may use an identifier received at the authentication server (140) in connection with the authentication procedure in order to obtain a traffic flow rule for the communication device (110). The traffic flow rule may be established at the network node (140) or forwarded to a second network node configured to receive network packets from the communication device (110). The first identifier may be any one of a user identifier identifying a user, an application identifier identifying an application, and a device identifier unique to the communication device (110).Type: ApplicationFiled: August 28, 2015Publication date: January 24, 2019Applicant: TELEFONAKTIEBOLAGET LM ERICSSON (PUBL)Inventors: Heidi-Maria BACK, Jari ARKKO, Tero KAUPPINEN, Jimmy KJÄLLMAN, Miika KOMU, Tomas MECKLIN, Patrik SALMELA, Mohit SETHI, Le WANG

Patent number: 8559434Abstract: A method of providing packet routing information comprises: encoding routing information from a source node to one or more destination nodes into a compact representation of set membership; and putting the compact representation of sets into a header of a packet that is to be sent from the source node to the destination node(s). The compact representation may be obtained by: generating d representations of a set of identifiers; generating d candidate compact representations of set membership from the d representations of the identifiers; and selecting one of the candidate compact representation of set membership. The selection may be made on the basis of which of the candidate compact representations has the lowest rate of returning false positives.Type: GrantFiled: October 10, 2008Date of Patent: October 15, 2013Assignee: Telefonaktiebolaget L M Ericsson (publ)Inventors: Christian Esteve Rothenberg, Petri Jokela, Jimmy Kjällman, Pekka Nikander, Teemu Rinta-Aho, Jukka Ylitalo
