    Abstract: A device for separating flat objects such as sheet metal blanks has a pair of separator devices which apply a force to the edges of the objects at an angle to a normal of the plane of the objects. In one embodiment, the separator devices are screws which are rotated in opposite directions to lift opposite edges of the objects. As the object is lifted, the angle of the screws becomes more nearly vertical.
