Abstract: There is a mulifunctional finger, hand and wrist splint which includes a slab support member. In a position of use the slab support member extends along the underside of, and substantially follows the contours of, a wearer's lower forearm wrist and palm so that the wrist is immobilized. The slab support member in the area of the wearer's palm forms an anchor plate for a fracture support which is releasibly attached to the anchor at a range of positions to align with one or more finger or metacarpal fractures.

Abstract: There is a disposable multi-layered pad for personal hygiene and disease protection comprising a pair of overlaying envelope 1, 2 detachably joined over inner abutting surfaces 1A, 2A. One of the envelopes 2A has lateral dimensions to encase the four finger digits of the human hand and the other 1A of the envelopes is dimensioned to encase the thumb. On separation during use of the pad the envelopes can function in the manner of a glove to protect the user when grasping contaminated objects. The envelope material forming the outer layers 1B, 2B of the pad being sufficiently soft, pliant and absorbant to be suitable for wiping the rectum after a bowel movement and the envelope material forming the inner abutting layers 1A, 2A being sufficiently tough and impermeable to form a contamination and moisture barrier during grasping and wiping operations.

Abstract: There is an adjustable splint for fractures or other injuries of the figure or toe. The splint comprises an anchor plate adapted to be secured against the wearer's palm or sole by a velcro strap or the like, and a channel member which is engagable with apertures in the anchor plate at any one of a range of positions to align with the finger or toe fracture to be set. The channel portion is shaped to cradle and immobilize the finger or toe fracture and is pivotal relative to the anchor plate by a hinge. There are also apertures in the channel member for ventilation and to enable the fitting of a rest member to impose a degree of flexion onto the fracture during healing. There are hinge lines and breaking lines on the channel member to facilitate fitting to the finger or toe fracture.
