Abstract: A mobile home support system is disclosed which uses a plurality of stepped elongated supports, preferably made of railroad ties secured together. The individual supports are placed beneath a mobile home with the mobile home support beams preferably secured to the supports. The supports are disposed at various angles beneath the mobile home structure to provide effective resistance to loss of support by lateral movement of the mobile home under the influence of displacement forces generated by ground tremors, regardless of the direction from which the displacement force is generated. The system has received approval for earthquake resistance support from the State of California. Also disclosed is the corresponding method of providing support to a mobile home in the presence of displacement forces generated by ground tremors.
