Publication number: 20240152842Abstract: When customizing a sales prediction model for a particular client, there exists a cold-start problem when the client's training data is of low quality and/or quantity. Disclosed embodiments solve this cold-start problem by normalizing the data based on weighted or unweighted recency and/or trend. In addition, the data from a wide range of clients may be used to train a base sales prediction model, which can then be fine-tuned using a particular client's data to produce a client-specific sales prediction model. A self-monitoring mechanism may be used to continually retrain the client-specific sales prediction model on new client data, to gradually improve upon the accuracy of the client-specific sales prediction model as more data become available.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 27, 2023Publication date: May 9, 2024Inventors: Jimmy Tai, Skyler Dale, Yulia Tyutina, Swarnabha Ghosh

Patent number: 9898736Abstract: A mobile checkout system and method for completing a purchase transaction to purchase items from an internet merchant. A user browses and selects items for purchase from the merchant through a shopping application or browser (mobile or PC). During the processing of the transaction, a checkout application installed on a mobile communication device is launched. The checkout application receives a checkout token created by a checkout server that identifies the purchase transaction. After user authentication, the system uses this token and communicates with the checkout server to cause the checkout server to complete the purchase transaction, in which payment data is securely transmitted and wherein a one-time-use cryptogram can be part of the payment information.Type: GrantFiled: February 10, 2017Date of Patent: February 20, 2018Assignee: Samsung Pay, Inc.Inventors: William Wang Graylin, Man Ho Li, Jimmy Tai Kwan Tang

Patent number: 7548851Abstract: A musical jukebox is disclosed which provides for: fast archiving of songs; a flexible user interface; easy and convenient entry of, access to and/or display of data relating to songs archived by the jukebox; easy and convenient search and locate capabilities for locating, reviewing, retrieving and/or playing songs stored in the jukebox; and low cost relative to the functionality, features, conveniences and user-friendliness provided by the jukebox. Fast of flush archiving of songs (as well as other data and signals) is accomplished by first saving sets of data without compression, which allows the data to be entered quickly, and then, compressing later at an appropriate time. A unique MP3 bit allocation encoding scheme is used to compress data. A unique memory allocation supports fast data archiving. The user interface employs two-way communication between a remote control and the jukebox. A searchable song database is structured to enable very fast searching by music category, and also by title and artist.Type: GrantFiled: October 11, 2000Date of Patent: June 16, 2009Inventors: Jack Lau, Chi Ying Tsui, Roger Shu Kwan Cheng, Chi Wai Yung, Jimmy Tai Kwan Tang, Kin Ping Ng, Sai Kit Lai, Kai Kin Chan, Wing Chau Chan
