  • Publication number: 20250068865
Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure include improvements to millimeter wave backscatter RFID technology for rotational sensing. Embodiments of the present disclosure leverage the polarization mismatch of linearly polarized antennas to capture rotational motion with high accuracy. One embodiment described herein includes utilization of a four-antenna system, each featuring a different modulation frequency. This configuration allows for independent extraction of rotational information by observing the changes in signal amplitudes as the angle of rotation varies. With a polarization offset of 15° between successive antennas, the backscatter channels trace distinct curves, enabling the resolution of angular ambiguities.

  • Publication number: 20250066227
Abstract: Novel design frameworks for designing electrodialysis (ED) desalination systems for purifying brackish water are provided herein. The design frameworks of the present embodiments include one or more energy management strategies, as well as recirculation-based system architectures. The design frameworks can be independent of each other, or can be used together. In some embodiments, the energy management strategy can include determining a capacity of a battery in communication with an (ED) system and imposing a charge power limit onto the battery to limit the charging rate of the ED system. The energy management strategy can be used in combination with the recirculation-based system architectures to improve efficiency of purification performed by these ED systems. These architectures can include hybrid architectures that operate in continuous flow, but provide a recirculation stream to mix the feed to achieve a desired salinity of the product stream.

  • Publication number: 20250069319
Abstract: An accelerator unit (AU) first generates and inserts interpolated frames into a set of rendered frames. For a current rendered frame of the set of rendered frames, the AU estimates positions in an interpolated frame and a previous rendered frame from which the pixels in the current rendered frame moved. Based on these estimated positions, the AU determines the changes in the depth values as the pixels move between frames. The AU then generates a multi-channel disocclusion mask using the determined differences in depth values that includes a first channel representing the levels of disocclusion as the pixels move from the previous rendered frame to the interpolated frame and a second channel representing the levels of disocclusion as the pixels move from the current frame to the interpolated frame. Using the multi-channel disocclusion mask, the AU recertifies the color values of the interpolated frame.
