    Abstract: A formulation for rubber composition with reduced odor and good thermal oxidative aging-resistance and tension fatigue resistance comprising 100 parts by weight of a diene elastomer, 30 to 70 parts by weight of a reinforcing filler, 0.1 to 8 parts by weight of an antidegradant composition, and 0.5 to 3 parts by weight of a crosslinker, wherein the antidegradant composition includes a 6PPD antidegradant with a purity of equal to or greater than about 98% and an S-TMQ. The rubber composition has no added odor inhibitor/adsorbent or deodorizing additive, while by using combination of 6PPD with purity of equal to or greater than about 98% and an S-TMQ instead of traditional combination of 6PPD and a TMQ, the VOC emission of the rubber composition is effectively reduced, the odor grade is reduced, and the thermal oxidative aging-resistance and tension fatigue resistance is improved.

The material of the present invention can have a V notch impact energy of 30 J or more than 30 J at ?40° C., a high temperature strength of 380 MPa or more at 700° C., and a hardenability of 200 mm or more to ensure the consistency of internal and external microstructures. The materials of the present invention can be applied to hot-work molds used in special working conditions that require high toughness at low temperatures, high strength at high temperatures and high hardenability.

    Abstract: A method for making a fiber containing active ingredients from a Chinese herb. The method includes subjecting a fiber material, which is to be combined with active ingredients from the Chinese herb, to be swelled with a solvent of cellulose and then to be impregnated in a solution of an extract of the Chinese herb. The fiber material is a cellulose fiber or a spunlaced nonwoven fabric made thereof. The method requires no use of adhesives. With the method, the fiber material does not need to be subjected to acidic or basic solutions or high temperature, which would cause the active ingredients to be decomposed. The method can provide a cellulose fiber or a nonwoven fabric made thereof, both of which have a higher content of active ingredients from a Chinese herb and higher durability. Furthermore, the method is simple and is easy to control, and thus, suitable for mass production.
