Patent number: 9982918Abstract: A heating medium supplied to an evaporator is used to heat lubricant oil in a screw compressor before the screw compressor starts up, and no additional heater for heating the lubricant oil in the screw compressor is required. When the screw compressor operates, the heating medium discharged from the evaporator after the evaporator is heated by the heating medium, is used to cool the lubricant oil. The lubricant oil heated by a lubricant oil heat exchanger is directly injected into a motor and a screw rotor so that introduction of a liquid refrigerant into a compressive chamber is reduced when the screw compressor starts up later. The lubricant oil introduced into the motor is discharged toward a lubricant oil storage portion before the screw compressor starts up so that the liquid refrigerant is prevented in advance from being introduced into the screw rotor when the screw compressor starts up.Type: GrantFiled: June 22, 2016Date of Patent: May 29, 2018Assignee: KOREA INSTITUTE OF ENERGY RESEARCHInventors: Gil Bong Lee, Jun Hyun Cho, Young Soo Lee, Hyung Ki Shin, Young Jin Baik, Ho Sang Ra

Patent number: 9297560Abstract: A dehumidifier for a compressor, including: a plurality of dehumidifying members that absorb moisture; and a flow passage controlling valve module that enables a low-temperature vapor refrigerant to alternately flow into the plurality of dehumidifying members and enables the low-temperature refrigerant to flow into a compressor in a state where moisture contained in the low-temperature refrigerant is absorbed and is removed, enables a high-temperature vapor refrigerant ejected from the compressor to alternately flow into the dehumidifying members and regenerates the dehumidifying members. Thus, since a liquid-state absorbent contained in a refrigerant flowing into the compressor is removed by the dehumidifier, damage caused by liquid compression and corrosion of the compressor can be reduced. In addition, the structure of the dehumidifier is simple, and an additional external heating source is not required.Type: GrantFiled: October 23, 2012Date of Patent: March 29, 2016Assignee: KOREA INSTITUTE OF ENERGY RESEARCHInventors: Seong-Ryong Park, Ji-Young Kim, Minsung Kim, Young-Jin Baik, Ho-Sang Ra, Jun-Tack Park, Hyung-Kee Yoon, Young-Soo Lee, Ki-Chang Chang
